This was brought up in another thread, and seems to potentially have some merit to it.

Do Ordnance Weapons Scatter? Or is it that all 'Blast" weapons Scatter?

The following argument from Nabetrayal makes sense.

Double check your rulebook, and you'll see that all Ordnance means, by itself, is that you take the best of 2d6 for armor penetration and no other weapons may be fired by a model that fires an Ordnance weapon. Ordnance blast weapons gain the additional properties of being blast weapons, and using the large blast marker unless otherwise specified, and Ordnance barrage weapons gain the additional properties of not being required to fire indirectly, not being able to be fired indirectly if the firing model moved, and inflicting a -1 Leadership penalty for purposes of any Pinning tests they may inflict.

What is the counter argument for them Scattering other than, "ALL Blast weapons Scatter"?

Nabterayl is correct. Ordnance weapons themselves don't scatter, as in the case of the Hellstrike missiles on Valkyries and a few other models from Forge World. They roll to hit using the firing model's BS.

Most Ordnance weapons are Ordnance Blast, and so do scatter, in the same way as other Blast or Large Blast weapons, or Ordnance Barrage, and so behave in the same way as Barrage weapons. It does specificly say so in the weapons section of the rulebook.

The assumption that all Ordnance weapons scatter is based upon the mistaken assumption that Ordnance=Blast. They are two separate weapon characteristics. The only connection between the two is that if the Blast weapon is also an Ordnance weapon, it will automatically use the Large Blast Marker.
