Question, Are the Relictor chapter rules that were in WD280 and 287 still legal?

I'm not familiar with the Relictors WD rules (I know the chapter you"re talking about tho). I would doubt they would be allowed in most all tournament settings but amongst friends and with their consent I don't see why you couldn't.

All Chapter Approved rules are not legal at the vast majority of tournaments, the only exception to this is the Eldar Night Serpent.

But amongst friends (or with your opponent's permission) there should be no problem using the Relictor's rules :)

For those of us who don't know the Relictor rules, what are the general army wide rules?

Basically, the relictors were once allowed to take one item of wargear from the Codex Chaos Space Marines.

I'd allow it- I'd hate for my opponent to have spent so much energy converting and painting his miniatures to a ruleset given and then not be able to play it. If his chapter master wants to play with an Arketus Scourge, Marneus Calgar will just have to show him the error of his ways :-).

But as to your point- technically they're no longer "legal," because they were written under the 4th edition rules, and so there would be some discrepancies inherent in the rules that you would have to discuss with your opponent.

If you dig around over on MKerr's Chainfist (http://www.chainfist.com/)blog, he posted some nice updated rules for some of the Relictors-specific wargear like the Arkturus Scourge, the Monolith Shard, and a few other fun ones.

I've had fun with my Relictors just using Relic Blades and some creative modelling. :)

but how do you use it , if the roll on chaos artifacts they get tells you to check in the chaos codex only the chaos codex doesnt have those upgrades anymore.
