This is my first army and I decided to go with a Dark Angels successor of my own creation. I liked the dark angels colors so I tried to do something close to it but different. The main colors for the chapter are Camo Green and Shadow Grey. Any suggestions or tips would be much a appreciated, especially any on improving speed of production.

This is one of my finished (but not sealed) devastators followed by my dreadnought w/ Sicarius in the bg.

Drop pod I'm working on. I jump from project to project because I am a jittery fellow.

Well, since you asked for opinions...

Too many colors that don't seem well coordinated. It really hits you in the face and not in a pleasant way.

Remember, this is just one man's opinion. If you like it that is all that really counts.

haha, yeah i did ask. I was actually thinking of nixing the red. Doesn't really fit in the way that I imagined. the drop pod is the more recent work so I think i'm gonna stick to the camo green and shadow grey.

Personally I agree that it would look better without the red/orange, keeping it like you've done the dreadnought would be really good.

This is a more recent model, just to test colors for terminators, and I think I'll keep the red off.

The green and blue combo is very unique and looks good. It looks much better without the orange. I also wonder if your photos look like the models in person? It could be that the color in the photo is slightly off.

My only other suggestion would be to add a black wash to help unite the main colors and add more depth.

I would darken down that green color. It would match better if it wasn't so light. You could do that by washing the completed models that aren't varnished down with a brown wash...

I think the light has a lot to do with it. All of the pictures were taken with my phone and in different rooms at different times so the lighting is kinda funky. I plan on washing all the models when I'm done, probably with devlan mud or badab black, but as a final touch kind of thing. but yeah I think I'm gonna lose the red, which doesn't look as orange in person or at least use it very sparingly (perhaps hq and vets) and probably mixed darker to make it more like a brick red or maroon.

This is my 'Belial' conversion that I'm working on here and there. I used a Marneus Calgar figure w/ Cato Sicarius' head. I then added the wings from a reaper mini wing pack because he's the leader of the 'Deathwing' so I figured it would look cool and epic. I then cut apart swords from the Reaper elven weapons pack for the lightning claws. I'm just now playing around with green stuff so I haven't quite become proficient in sculpting it yet so I just tried to smooth it around the claws and covered the putty on his back with a Dark Angels chapter symbol. The Wings were painted by using the citadel sephia wash and then highlighting with bone white to skull white.

Ok so with criticisms and suggestions in mind, here is the revised color scheme. Same Devastator w/ Heavy bolter. I've posted his previous colors (picture with red) and the new and improved scheme. I also chose to paint the left arm with metallics as I'm obsessed with the recent art for Deathwatch the RPG.
