i havent got pics, but i did have an idea for a griffon the other day. if you look at the chassis for the deahstrike missile model, its got a big open space wherethe missile rack would be, perfect for a mortar made using pvc pipe etc

Not sure why you want to waste the points on an ECC, but this is by far my favorite conversion of an enclosed Griffon:

It's made out of a LR Demolisher cannon and the new Chimera kit.

That is a fabulous ECC Griffon conversion. Is the raised section with the lasgun hatches a separate piece in the new kit? Because whatever he did there looks like it'd make a great open-compartment Griffon conversion too, if you just removed that superstructure.

Yeah, it's pretty similar in construction to the old Chimera kit - the biggest change is the putting the tracks on is a thousand times easier. The floor actually has detail this time around, too - it's a raised diamond plating.

that looks great! keep them coming, but masterslowpoke is it better to have them without ecc? i'm trying them out in a game tomarow and thoght it be a good idea since its +1 to the vehicle damege without it!

I actually just converted my friend a couple of griffons that were very last minute but came out looking good and its a very simple conversions. Firstly you need a chimera kit, chimeras are great because they are cheaper than basilisks and the diamond plating on the base of the new chimera chassis adds a simple yet often overlooked portion to the model. Next you need the lascannon sprue from the imperial bastion box, and one rocket rocket pod from the valkyrie sprue. Rocket pods should be easy considering most people do not use them anyway. I'll post a picture soon to show you what I mean.

Most people in my area DO use rocket pods for valkyries (as they are another weapon you can fire when moving 12" as the S4 is a defensive weapon). Vendettas aren't common (as to fire it all, you need to move 6" or less, which is wasting the capabilities of a FAST SKIMMER TRANSPORT.)

I'm quite a fan of commissarbob's conversions, though.
