I read a tip recently about using pine bark as rocks for basing. I wanted to whip up a couple sets of trees and I thought that some pine bark rocks might help dress of the clumps and make them look more natural.
Here's my WIP and finished bases with the trees attached.

The pine bark is almost great on it's own, but with a little brown and grey paint, it looks very realistic. The way the bark is layered mimic natural rock formations very well and I plan on adding lots more to my bases and other wilderness terrain.
