Heavy Weapon Stands

I need to make some tripods for the guard's autocannons.

I don't really feel like buying them on the net, so any suggestions on this (I admit pretty simple if I thought about it longer) build project?

Anyone make some and they come out particularly good?

GaleForceNine makes a plastic accessories pack that comes with several sizes of tubing and dowels. One of the tubes is the correct size for the peg on the bottom of the heavy weapons. Cut a small section to mount the weapon and cut three pieces of dowl to use a legs, looks pretty good after you paint it up.

You could try mounting them on a wall, or some ruins. Maybe some sandbags. If they are catachans a log would even be cool. In the field, they would have to use what they could.

Well I suppose I owe some more explination.

You see, I am cheap. So I am making them into sentry type guns. They'll have no crew, just a remote control apperatus.

GF9 also sells 60mm bases for like 40 bases for $10.00.

So you can really get the bang for your buck out of that Heavy Weapon Squad box...
