So my store got there black box with the new Russ in it. I asked to built it, they said sure.
And I must say I'm very impressed: I sat down after dinner last night, the instructions are better, the mould lines are very minimal, and those treads are soooo much better. It infinately easier to get up for weapon swaps.

I had most of the tank finished far quicker then any of the older IG tanks I've built in the past. After about an hour and a half of watching TV/buildings all I have left to build is the turret.

The only complants: Price, lack of accessories, turrent not compatible with old ( none of there were are suprise at this point) But still, its a far better kit then the older Russ kit.

I'm building it as Vanquisher/LC/HF sponsons since its going up for display in the store.

I like, unfortunately my IG army has no Leman Russes, or HS of any sort to be fair.

Yep, it's a nice kit. Just don't like the Exterminator's Autocannons though.

I personally do not like how the tank is more symetrical. They centered the rise on the back and the underside of the front. I alwasys liked how these parts were off center on the older russ. I have the new demolisher kit and I love how easy it was, but as you mention the accessories are at issue.

What used to be $40 is now $65 even for the base Russ ($15 for the purchase of the accessory sprue). the price really hits your pocket too much.

I saw the tank being made, i like it, but i won't be picking one up purely because i'd never use any one of the things i can make out of it.

Yeah I so want one of the new Russ kits, or a new Hellhound kit for that matter, but all my funding is already allocated to a couple concerts I really want to attend this summer - Iron Maiden in July, and the American Carnage tour in August with Slayer, Megadeth, and Testament.

Of course if Emilie Autumn has a show in Detroit in the near future, like 3-5 months, then I'll really be lacking cash then.

I remember hearing my friend complaining about the old Leman Russ, and after seeing it finally built, I can see why.

New one looks great, but it sucks that it's missing the accessory sprue.

And, God damn, I wish that Carnage tour would hit Canada. : (

Yeah, I like the new kits, but I don't think they are worth 50$USD a piece.

Still I may ask for one from my wife for christmas, but it'll be bought at a discount or ebay if I do.

Good to hear of the improvements, even if I only have 2 atm and they rarely get used because i like to run full infantry (not mech). Funny when most opponents expect mech and wind up with massed infantry platoons. They look at me funny :( lol.
