Great looking army and your painting is not bad at all, far from it!

I have a question about something completely unrelated to your army though... In the first photo (group shot), what were the scenery pieces placed on (the square bases for the scenery)?

I'm making some scenery myself and I haven't found an adequate base for it, yet...

I think the bases are hadrboard, but i'm not sure. took those at my FLGS, so it's their terrain.

took the thunderhammer from the death company sprue, chopped off the head of the hammer and when I took two chainshowrds, cut off the hand/hilt and pinned them back to back on top of the haft. used some plasticard to hide the join.


also, updated the pic, figured i'd add a Punished-style skull painted on the helmet to make him more chaplain-y, also painted the machinery bits of the halberd.

actually, that's the half-bionic head from the tactical squad sprue, but I'm happy with how it came out.

Really nicely done, dude. I'm gonna steal that idea for my BA counts as Seth.

I forgot to mention, but I also really like the blue purity seals. The green aren't really my bag, but I really dig the blue.

I went with the teal-ish blue to help contrast with the reds and blacks in the army, I'm glad you like it :D

Liking your painting alot, much neater that mine! I very much like the white, I can never get it to work for me!

Just a little something I would do with the metals (where you painted silver) if you give it a drybrush of tin bitz it dulls it down a little, makes it look a little rusted/dirty. Plus, give a heavy coat of it on the melta-guns to make it look like the heat from the shot has scorched the metal muzzle.
