I have a problem. I have shiny-itus the inability to pass up on new or cool looking stuff for 40k.

Thats not generally a life threatening problem but it messes with your head when your incoming models vastly outnumbers your outgoing models.

In short, I have way to many unpainted models from various diferent armies.

Im on a couple of other sites so some of you will be seein the initial examples again and Im sorry about that.
This site is unique though in that the others tend to segregate painting sections. Here I can stick them all in one handy dandy super thread.The one thread. One thread to hold them a... yeah you get the picture...

So enough already with the explainations whats on the painting table?

So what will be in this thread?

Eldar , Salamanders , Angels Sanguine , Space Wolves , and Imperial Fists for definite, maybe some Guard and if I havent finished by the time they are released, The Dark Eldar, my all time favourite force from 3rd ed, will be taking over and everything else will be sidelined.

There may be orks too.

Space Wolves.

These were meant to be a quick army a fun army a small army.

The plan is 14 terminators. and thats it really. Subtle as a house brick each figure is a monster and surprisingly in its first outing it won.

The Imperial Fists, are basicly a way for me to get rid of 2 AoBR sets and get the yellow out of my head. Or should I say it was the plan.... I have grown to love this scheme a lot

First test marine on an old model I had stripped to test the stripping power of Dettol(it works) and also to try a white primer(it sucked but I will put it down to a bad batch)

The Salamanders.

This is my old 3rd ed army. It has seen me through 2 tournaments and a huge amount of friendlies. Im adding things and replacing other things. Its playable as it is and on the priority list its probably quite far down, but I still love them and they deserve reinforcements.

I have to repaint the skin as when I did them I had no idea about the Black skin thing being chapter wide.

So there we have it. The current state of things is as above, I will post semi regular updates for all when work and kids allow. I consider my stuff to be tabletop quality as thats what its for. I do like my stuff to be as good as I can paint it though with certain restrictions ie time. Im always open to suggestions and criticism, so feel free to comment on it all or suggest relaxation techniques to get me to focus on 1 damn thing at a time.

It looks like a conversion. I'd say Dark Angel's Veteran head, Space Marine commander torso and tabbard, top bit from the Space Hulk librarian. I think I've seen that staff somewhere before but I can't remember what. Possibly a xenos bit?

Torso legs and the arms are from the command squad set. The plasma pistol is just a normal plasma pistol with a bit of wire added from the grip to the arm, possiby the angle made it look diferent. The head is a Wood Elf head scrolls are from either the commander or the command set I cant remember which now. The book is from the Mordheim set I think, the Staff is the standard bearer arm from the command squad, part of a power axe and a skaven blade. Psychic hood is a marine shoulder pad cut to shape.

As can be seen this guy has a litle bit more painting to be done.

Now below is the first stage with my Angels decals. Theyre clear so I painted the pad white first. I applied a coating of Microset then added the decal and applied a coat of the microset on top. The bloody thing then curled up and I spent around 15 minutes on each decal coaxing it flat again. Is this normal ? I never have this problem with normal decals.

Now onto opinions on a couple of things.

The way Im doing red has changed slightly Id just like to know which style you like best. The one on the right is the new style. Its a little darker but slightly harsher highlights.

time for my 6 yearly update......

Soooo anyway life got in the way WoW mainly although SWTOR can take some of the blame....oh and a divorce, you know little things.

Last year though i got my painting mojo back on and joined motivational threads over on Warseer and B&C .
Since Warseers future is in doubt and i read all about it here first i thought id move the updates to here, cos although B&C are great for most of my stuff they wont like the next army i have lined up, The Tau.

Now that the explainations are over lets take a stroll through whats been getting painted in the last year and maybe a sneaky peek at whats coming next.

I have 3 battlesuits 30 firewarriors a riptide and a Tau Commander a Devilfish and a hammerhead to finish and the colour should look a little darker when im done
