Artificer armor

Is artificer armor an available upgrade for any Space Marine character? I can see it mentioned in the Space Marines Codex, but I do not see any points cost listed for it. What units/characters have it as an option? Why mention it in the codex if no characters or units can purchase it as an upgrade?

It's under the "Captain" listing - a Captain or Chapter Master can take it as an upgrade.

Well, that sucks. No wonder Librarians hardly ever get used if they can't ever get better than a 3+ save without taking terminator armor. Artificer armor on my librarian would be the bomb-diggity.

I see a lot of librarians used, though rarely for CC and often in a squad to soak up hits. But if you absolutley must have a 2+ non terminator armor save, there are chapter relics that can get you there.
