These things are really priced to move. I like!

They're really undercutting the competition on the price there - and it makes it almost impossible to recast at those prices too. Smart move by GW. Now they need more than just cityscape bases.

Can anyone tell if these are plastic or resin?

I can't see the article says either way, but I do suspect plastic, given the price?

And yeah - a lot of 3rd Party Base Makers may have just met their match price wise.

These could be fun if (when, more like... I'm so weak) I build a new army.

The pricing is amusing. Their main products are priced not to move (until they package them in boxes with huge discounts because you can practically give away 3 for the price of 1 and still make good profit), but then something like this is. These items also help prove the fallacy of their current scheme. These are modeling bits, and every bit as "premium" as the models, but priced to compete with an existing market, so not "premium priced" (which, according to Rountree, means they must not be premium products).

I'll take it, but I do wish they'd grow a few brain cells and fix their whole system. It just looks even more broken when they release stuff like this or the "insanely discounted" boxed sets.

Bases are plastic, which is nice. Confirmed by WD Blog.

Wouldn't make sense for them not to be. But it's good to have confirmation. Means it'll be easier to attach plastic models to them before painting (if that's your preference... and for me, it is).

They also look like they would work really well as bases for troops fighting through battered warship corridors in boarding actions, or space hulks. I think I'm going to be making a large purchase of bases soon... (well, I say large, one set of each of the 20/40mm and the 32mm would cover my needs fine for now!).

My Imperial Fist Breacher squads and Terminators will be happy...

I'm loving these! Will save me a lot of trouble and sore wrists making homemade city fight bases!!

What's disappointing to me is the 40mm and 25mm being mixed in the same pack. Assuming Marine players are the most common & they are changing to/using the newer 32mm standard, the only way to get the matching 40mm for Terminators is to wait for ebay splitters or end up with a load of unwanted 25mm.

Or they could use the 25mm bases for Scouts. I have my Marines on 32mm but I find those are a little too big for Scouts, so prefer them on 25mm.

Or maybe get with a friend who needs the 25mm and split the cost of a box? Or use it as an excuse to add some Imperial Guard allies to your army? Or heck, just use them for objective markers or status markers. Yeah, that doesn't help the cost much, but hey, nice status markers are a cool thing to have, right?
