I've finally created my Count-As Astaroth model for my Khorne Berskers (BA) army.

I think everything looks good but the wings. I think they're way too pretty for anything Khornite.

I agree, looks pretty good. It is kinda hard to make out details with the unpainted, shiny metal.

Maybe if you greenstuffed some claws onto the wings, and painted them red/black.

I know... but you said its a Khorne army....I doubt they'd have pretty, angelic looking wings.

Wings are more of a utility thing than an aesthetic to appearance. Are crows pretty? Not really... Are crows associated with evil, yes. Khorne evil? Yes. I think it's a suitable match.
Who says evil has to have only leathery dragonic/bat wings? Feathery wings are fair game for anyone I think.

Now Sanguinor wings are too pretty. You can't make those work with evil too well.... But Astaroth, very easy to go.

Was tempted to go with a demonic head, but I really wanted the Khorne symbol for added emphasis.

Well said. Flying around on patchwork wings made from skulls and feather shafts would be kind of lame. Keep them black and not too fancy. Should look fine.

I think the point is that khorne is not associated with finesse but with blunt violence, and a feather is a fragile thing. Fragile things don't quite fit in with the khornate theme.

The wings, although feathery in appearance, aren't like real feathers though. they look like metallic wings, especially if painted the right way.
