Hi everyone,

I was thinking about which Chaos Space Marine kits I would like to see updated by Games Workshop when they finally release the updated Codex.

First of all, I would like to see the Chaos Marine Terminators boxed set updated with more weapon options than is currently available, such as options for pairs of Lightning Claws, Power Swords, Power Axes or Power Mauls for multiple models as well as keeping the Powerfist and Chainfist options that are in the current CSM Codex.

Secondly the Obliterators kit, it's the singularly worst kit I've ever encountered. The weapons that are put in the hands I have had to Green Stuff to try to keep the weapons in their sockets, they don't like to stay put otherwise.

Thirdly, Havocs, would it not be nice to have the same kind of kit that the Space Marines Devestators have, a box with 2 Missile Launchers, 2 Lascannons, 2 Autocannons and 2 Heavy Bolters that could then be swapped with other CSM kits.

Fourthly Berzerkers, it would be nice to be able to give all models either Chain Axe or Chain Sword.

Fifthly, the Thousand Sons ugrade kit, would be nice if it actually fit to the CSM kit.

Personally, I'm quite happy with the 10 Chaos Space Marine kit as it is.

Things to be upgraded/released:

Standard CSM (outdated)
Havocs (way outdated)
Berzerkers (way way outdated)
Rubrics (not available)
Plague Marines (failcast, too small)
Noise Marines (not available)
Lord/sorceror on mount (not available)
Obliterator/Mutilator (failcast)
Cultists (snapfit only)
Chosen (dark vengance only, no weapon options)
All special characters (still from 2nd edition, Abbadon is small than a regular space marine)

I suspect we might just see plastic Thousand Sons with the second half of War Zone Fenris.

Otherwise, the range does need a serious spruce up.

I've been hearing several rumors of new Thousand Sons minis, which is nice, now I just need to figure out what I'm going to do with the 2 BaC boxes I bought for a Thousand Sons project.

Get these (http://wargameexclusive.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/THOUSAND-SONS-MARINES-1.jpg) and build Rubrics +Sorc.
It will be cheaper than the GW "deal" anyways (im quite sure it would be 5 minis for 50$ ) and looks well.
Also as long as there is no rule change to the rubrics it is wasted potential anyways.

personally I never liked the idea of all of them having crested helms, only the characters had them before the fall.

I dont see the problem then as the plastic rubrics will probably be heavy ornamented with crested helms like the last ones were.
If you are more in for a 30k "pre fall of Prospero style" there is FW replacement parts (https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/catalog/product/600x620/99020187189_ThousandSonsUpgradeSet01.jpg) designed to fit the Calth minis.

As I've said as ice said before (in its own thread, no less) I'm hoping we see more gribbly Chaos Marines like in Rogue Trader.

For my money, the physical corruption and mutation adds to the bitterness the Renegades feel.

For less gribbly, perhaps more recent renegades, simply mix and match with Imperial Astartes kits. Or even save the extra gribbly mutations for a separate upgrade kit.

Either way, to my eyes there's more to Chaos than horns and spikes (though horns and spikes remain important!)

I'm with MrMystery, I want to se more corrupted and mutated stuff and based on older armour marks as well.

I'd also like to see Skitarrii/harlequin sized codex books for Thousand Sons, Death Guard and co too though

p.s. might be better if someone moved this thread to 40k general so as to eh avoid nerdrage from folk...

That's right, there's skulls as well!

Actually I play Night Lords so skulls without "gribbly" bits work best for me. In fact I've already mixed in a reasonable number of loyalist bits to reflect their tendency to scavenge what they can.

Skulls and blood. Spikes and horns. All that is just a bit "Khorney," if you ask me. You can't forget the other Chaos gods (as GW so often does). Nurgle gets a bit of play with his rot and his putrid zombie cultists, but I'd like to see more Tzeentch and Slaanesh chaos kits. More birds and mutants. More whips and chains. Oh, sure, they say Slaanesh is dead and gone, but I think he just popped out to the chemist to get some astroglide.

that is both awesome and horrific.
