Huh, a 2nd knight-Heraldor, a 2nd plastic clam pack, I think thats a first (?)

A second battletome for Stormcast Eternals already? Just because they added cavalry?

Good thing you can get unit rules outside the books and only need them for battalions.

Still, that's got to be extra "meh" to people who just aren't enthralled by Sigmarines and would like other factions to get some love. So far it's just Sigmarines, Khorne, Nekkid Dwarfs, and more Sigmarines. And there was a bunch of Khorne at the end of WFB's life, too.

Erik, they have mentioned Lord-Commanders and there are dudes with wings in the back of the picture, it may be the same thing but meh. The point being there are probably more than two warscrolls in it. Quit your incessant moaning.

There are more, but still, it's a fair point - not "incessant moaning" (certainly no more than your acceptance and cheering is "unnecessary cultlike cheering") - that they released a Stormcast Eternals Battletome and are already doing a second one. It's not a necessary buy, so that's good. But it can't help with the people who are wanting to see new factions that aren't Khorne or Sigmarines.

If you like AoS, you should be hoping for more new factions, too. If you love Sigmarines, okay, cool, I get that you like new stuff. But you should still be able to recognize why people might be disappointed in how it looks. (It also feels weird... You'd think these models were done before, and if so, it'd be a much better idea to release them all at the same time. The second book won't sell well enough for them to have held off just to do a second book as a money-grab, so that's not the reason. Makes me really curious what held up this set of releases. That curiosity isn't meant as criticism, either, just genuinely wondering whether something happened like molds breaking, or someone didn't like the way the models were turning out and they had to redesign them, whatever. Probably not important, I just tend to wonder about things like that.)

I am actually a Chaos player, so your point is invalid. I bought a 20 quid book that has pretty much everything I need for now, sorted.

You missed Seraphon. And Clans Pestilens. And Archaon.

But hey, artistic license I guess.

We were told that the plan was to move to a rolling release shedule where armies could get new units whenever the design studio was done with them, so it's interesting to see this already in action. As for whether these were ready six months ago, it's possible they were, but that would have been a helluva lot to drop in one go.

I'm not a Stormcast player, but I expect they would rather be getting these now than having to wait three years for a new book to come out! On the matter of the book, is there a new one or is that just speculation? If so, it would be nice if it's priced like the Clan Pestilens book.

To be fair, seraphon and pestilens have no new models, and Archaon has only 5. And is nobody going to mention what looks like a large dragon in the background?

I thought others had already clocked the Dragons?

Perhaps that was the thread in General Discussion.

But what the hey....DRAGONSES!!!!!

No, I didn't. "Seraphon" is just a book for models that have existed for a while from a game you might remember from the past called Warhammer Fantasy Battles. Ditto for Pestilens. Those aren't new factions.

Similarly, Everchosen isn't really a faction even. But yeah, okay, there's a little bit more Chaos than just Khorne.

The only new releases so far are Chaos, Sigmarines, or Nekkid Dancing Dwarfs.

Meanwhile, those Sylvaneth have plenty of room to grow, and replacing the Tomb Kings with something interesting might be good, or throwing a bone to all those human army players who know Empire and Bretonnia are going to go the way of Tomb Kings given that both nations blew up and the few human survivors roaming the Mortal Realms don't have any kind of nations at the moment (given that Chaos kind of wrecked them all when they took over the joint, and even after Sigmar gains some footholds and starts taking territory back, they'd have to create a new nation(s) from survivors from multiple cultures based on what they can even remember from their old cultures). But, heck, even without nations, you could have a faction of human survivors from various cultures, which would be interesting in terms of story and give room to go crazy with the design of the models.

I get it, you love AoS and all things GW so anything that isn't praising them must be hammered into the ground. Unfortunately, I'm not a tiny nail to be hammered easily, and I find attempts to insult me or shut me up for having a differing opinion from you to be cause for speaking out more. You're also not helping make the game-playing community look friendly.

Book is shown on one of the images from WD. I can't see a price, but rumors peg it at a reasonable cost.

Erik. When you look at the present and then decide there's no future, I'm gonna call you out on it.

We don't know what's coming next. We're still within a year of the games launch. I've got a sneaking suspicion Empire will feature in the Auxiliary Chambers. Just a hunch though.

And if not? Current setting is the Realmgate Wars. They're just the beginning of whatevs GW has planned - and all will be revealed in time.

You not liking doesn't make that the prevailing opinion. And I'm pretty sure whatever GW had done or will do, you'd find fault with it. Why, I honestly don't know, but I swear I've never seen you not look for something not to like about whatever it is GW is about to release, be it AoS, 40k, Heresy or a boxed game.

Hang on all the Warscrolls will be free on the app and the Battalions can be downloaded for a fraction of the price.

But come on DRAGON!!!!!

Also it look like there's a Lord Celesant model in there another piece of my "just add up the cost of your army" balancing system falls into place.

Just because you choose to ignore when I'm not critical doesn't mean I'm always critical.

I'm critical of everything. Not just GW. Just who I am. I do say positive things when necessary. But since other people do that, most of the time it sounds like parroting. People don't say the critical things, though, and no one can grow if they only hear endless praise.

Luckily, my managers have always liked it. So there's that. (Well, except the one who disagreed with me repeatedly saying putting Flash on every website was a terrible idea and Flash was not the way of the future like someone else claimed. Six months after that disagreement, Adobe came out supporting everything I'd said, and announcing Flash would eventually be phased out completely but was no longer going to be worked on with mobile devices.)

Looks like a single kit with weapon swaps for the units.

Tempestors would be my preference. Still pretty solid in combat, but also able to shoot pretty good, so they can fire while getting to combat, and since you can fire while in combat, they can put out a pretty good amount of attacks each turn, directing them at different targets.

"Star Drake"... Pretty much confirms a dragon of some sort. But have to wait for next week to see it.

Desolators are totally badass. Tough as nails, and can dish out a ludicrous number of attacks, all at Damage 2 - and that's without their mounts getting all clawy.

Not entirely sure about the Tempestors myself, though I could just be not being used to Heavy (very, very heavy) Cavalry having ranged attacks.

Makes me think of Nob Bikerz... shooty and killy in combat. But I also have a preference for units that can move around the battlefield shooting stuff and switch to assault when needed. Your preferences may vary.

Mr Mystery
03-09-2016, 09:13 AM
There is that.

I'm more of a 'run up to it and hack it into tiny little bits' kinda guy. Though I can see the benefit of small units of Tempestors rampaging about. They make superb very heavy light cavalry!

Was picking through my Stormcast Eternals book last night, and I noticed that Prosecutors are 'the most commonly seen of the Angelos Chambers'....

Looks like there'll be at least a third book for Stormcast.

Herp de derp!

Just got the scrolls on my AoS App, and I never noticed different units had different Dracoth breath attacks.
