Praise the Omnissiah! Specifically praise him at £48 a pop, or £144 for three (https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Mechanicum-Domitar-Battle-automata)

The Domitar Class Battle-automata was a sophisticated variant of the ancient Conqueror pattern. Larger than the more common Castellax alongside which it would serve, the Domitar was also swifter, designed to cross the open battlefield at speed, and built expressly to crash into the enemy with shattering force.

To this end the Domitar’s shock-protected and armoured frame was itself a weapon, while its blows were amplified to colossal proportions by the Battle-automata’s inbuilt gravitational hammers, allowing it to pulverise battle tanks and, as it would later prove, even Legiones Astartes Dreadnoughts in combat. As a line-breaker, the Domitar was unparalleled in the Mechanicum’s arsenal, and its tactical flexibility was further augmented with a missile launcher armed with a variety of munitions.

The Domitar Class Battle-automata is equipped with a pair of graviton hammers and a missile launcher. Optional parts are included to mode the missile launcher’s housing open or closed. Rules for using Domitar Class Battle-automata Maniples in Horus Heresy games can be found in The Horus Heresy - Mechanicum: Taghmata Army List.

This is a multi-part resin kit. A 60mm round base is included.

Mechanicum gap-filling continues apace.

These ones are well 'ard and all.

Think I'm going to crack on with a Legio Cybernetica force later in the year :)

I am doing some Istvaan Iron Hands terminators and veterans that Ferrus takes with him, a decent chunk of robots would make a nice companion to him.

I'm thinking Iron Warriors....because they're easy to paint, and I have real sympathy with how they were treated during the Crusade (as will anyone who regularly smashes their target at work, only to see others advance in their career)

Plus, whilst the models aren't exactly cheap, you'll struggle to find a more cost effective Heresy army.

And once I've gathered my metallic hordes (ably supported by Skitarii, natch. Not those funny little Tech Thralls who are about a much use as Kanye West), I'll be able to start my first turn to the Robocop theme tune.

yeah I do like the Iron Warriors, and those Iron Circle are awesome.

Indeedy! Had a large army of them under the EVIL Chaos Codex, but sold them to fund a disastrous relationship prior to discovering it was disastrous.

And I've got Betrayal at Calth, so most of my infantry are sorted, Perry.

good plan

I might go tank light, and instead field an entire infantry/MC force - the sort of thing sent in to secure a breach. That could look very cool.

Would also require a maxed out unit of MkIII Breachers, because.

the breachers do look amazing. always disappointed by how poor their save is though.

Yarr. Though I think it's mostly 'but....sodding great shield...what gives?'

But will I have the disciprine to buy this a squad at a time, painting as I go?

And you know, I think the concept of 'these are the Forlorn Hope' also suits the MkIV Armour, at least in my head. Why? Newest armour, newest recruits. Off you go and prove yourselves to your Primarch lads....

off you go with your big robot friend

That's right Novitiate Bob, stand in front of the big robot friend. PROTECT HIS KNEES!

And I'll have a 10 strong Tactical Support Squad all armed with Flamers.....

Oh dear. I think I'm committed!

I want a unit of Breachers for my Iron Warriors, but holy smokes, they are not cheap. Hoping for some plastics of them some day.
