Interesting....wonder if we'll get new Ork kits?

It'll be nice. Hopefully this time they're more worth taking. Of the new kits released with the codex, we had the $10-per-Ork Flash Gitz that aren't worth one of the overstuff Heavy Support slots, the $105 Orkanauts that die too easily and don't do enough on the battlefield, and the $250-per-under-200-point-battery Mek Gunz, which are worth taking in a game, but the price tag is so obscene that it's far better to convert them. All look amazing, but are either wacky pricing or just sit on a shelf.

Honestly, the whole codex needs a do-over badly, but the last time they were so lazy they just copy-pasted a lot of the text from the 4th edition codex. That's how little they care about Ork players. :(

If GW can just get Forgeworld Items in Plastic, like the Big Squiggoth and the Mega-Dreads and add the lot to the main codex, instead of adding things like the Gorkanought/Morkanought, then toss in some fun and wonky rules like the (4th ed./5th ed.)Trukk's "Ramshackle", where it had a good chance of going 3d6 inches in a random direction before exploding. Things that can make both players laugh as the hilarity of the event is obvious without making the rule(s) so detrimental to the Ork player that the rule ends up being a complete negative (the current Mob Rule). If there was a way the Big Mek's Shokk Attack Gun could cause models to switch places, that would be a fun way of sniping IC's out of units, like taking a tau buff commander or an Eldar Farseer out of their squad (Pro), While also essentially sacrificing the Big Mek and possibly putting a dangerous foe in the middle of the Ork forces (Con). Stuff like that, that add flavor without going overboard with the positives or negatives would be great. And an updated model for the Warbuggy/Wartrack/Skorcha would be greatly appreciated. IA:8 had amazing diagrams for what was possible for those units, modeling wise. Yes, people will always convert stuff, that is the nature of Orks in 40k, but having an official models helps. Not to mention, more bits!!!

What, when they're just about to re-release the Gorkamorka Trukk and Warbike?

That's holding artwork only, not the final product. So it's entirely possible we'll be seeing updated ones in the next month or so.

So Orks are have a restyling in their Ghazghkull supplement. So does the Farsight Enclave.
Everyone with formations, formations, and more formations. I imagine the situation some months ago, at GW headquarters:
Da Boss: -how can we rise sales without having to invest in new designs?
-Formations, sir
-Who said that!?
-Me sir.
-Promoted to head of sales! Go move out now and stop the bleeding!
More or less it went like this i suppose.

The forthcoming Start Collecting: Orks box looks to be pretty decent. Found this on Facebook:

Certainly seems like a Filler week with no new models, but at least Ork players get a little attention I suppose. Hopefully it's the calm before the storm if the week after is indeed the Deathwatch vs genestealer cult game.

Meh... Not really liking this "attention" as it means I get to pay $33 to replace a book because they won't do errata or anything, and it still won't fix the core problems with the army.

And the idiot-in-charge promising not to lower any prices means there's stuff in the product range that won't sell because it's stupidly priced, while older models still haven't been redone. Seriously, we're still rocking 20 year old buggies and traks, without all the options, and no Deff Koptas, but they add new units that are either expensive and useless, or useful but so excessively expensive that it's much better to just convert your own (unless, like me, you have usable older models).

We're like the Rodney Dangerfield of 40K, which is a low fall from being the old primary foil to the Imperium.

So they're including three new formations... and won't just put out an errata or something, expecting those of us who have W:G (for $50) and HotW (for another $50) to drop an extra $33 just to get a new copy of the book where something had to be cut to reprint some other stuff and toss in those three new formations? WTF?

Even more WTF since HotW came hot on the heels of Codex: Orks and W:G, so Ork players like me had to drop $150 in rapid succession for what armies are getting in core books for $58 right now (which is still too much, but a lot better than $150). And now we already are expected to pay $33 more because they won't just tell us what was new in fear we might not give up our precious money?

Yeah, screw that.
