Wanted to do this for ages now,my take on a 41st millenium Cabal. The idea is that the cabal themselves after ten thousand years have begun to take a more direct approach to fighting chaos and have used their collective alien sciences to create VAT grown disposeable armies of organisms that are immue to chaos and can fight them. This is a "Shelf" army not a "gaming" army but if they were in the game id imagine them to be psychic blanks and be strong as terminators but very slow cumbersome with low intelligence.

They were made from really old casts of a crappy sculpt from about 12 years ago which I then covered in hot glue and added the eyes. Based them in a pink colour then put a dark blue wash over the top, drybrushed them in a pale blue-grey, painted the eyes black then glossed the f**k out of them. Simple but I think they are effective.
I plan to add an HQ and some vehicles next, but I wanted to get the basic infantry out of the way first before the "fun" stuff.

Cabal Agents Command Squad.
I thought it would be cool if the command squad was made up different alien races, agents that have field experience and can lead troops.
I had a dig through all my old sculpts as i have quite a backlog at this point and dug out these four that I still liked, they are from about five years or more but I think they are characterful. They won’t ever get cast up but so I’ll repurpose them for this army.

Cabal Alligned Alpha-Legionaire
i might do a whole squad of these as allies. I wanted the armour to look like the cabal have improved upon the armour and added their own bits. They would be a small splinter group that are aligned with the Cabal. (Legion was one of my fave books, ok? ;) )

The models look oddly unfinished to me. I think maybe because they're all basically one colour? Maybe a different accent colour on... uh... some bit? May help. The mechanical poking out bits on the larger 'vehicles', perhaps.
You enjoy making armies that are hard to describe parts thereof, don't you? :p

perhaps I could add a different coloured tentacle sticking out or something? I was thinking of doing that anyway. I haven't done the bases either though...
Oh it's all a conspiracy specifically to see you struggle to describe my works :P

I like it, the shape appeals to me. Are all of your Cabal leaders going to be indescribable xenos?

only those four I picked out, I've been thinking of having an outcast female dark eldar character that has joined the cabal (after leaving her "kabal") and I'm tempted to do a Demiurg as well.

They kind of remind me of Gleep and Gloop from the Herculoids.

You would get to make some fun sounds as your army marches across the battlefield.

Two more members of the Cabal have been painted up.. An aquatic worm creature with psychic abilities and an extendable claw arm, and a plant creature that can communicate with any/all vegetation.

Updated the plant Xenos (the green one) and added two more members. One is a fleshy, organic creature akin to the thing (albeit more benign), while the other is a disc-like creature that lives on a neutron star (inspired by the Cheela from Dragon’s Egg)

INDEX XENOS :
Some fluff on the members (from left to right)
Bimetessfye - Ugly and twisted slug-like organisms, their native sand-burrows stretch across a thousand worlds, hidden in the deepest recesses, they are known as The Watchers within the Cabal.
Jequerita - Intelligent plant based species. A long time ago the Jequerita were aggressive refoliators but that aggression towards animal-life brought their doom as it fed into Slaanesh's excess and Khornes bloodlust, bringing a warpstorm to their small empire. The surviving members of their species joined the cabal and have been members for a hundred thousand years.
Sghlek - Physically strong but small disc-like creatures from a neutron star. Their advanced sciences have paved the path for the cabal.
Orcanaell - These Aquatic worm creatures were once peaceful psychic sea beings until Nurgle polluted their seas. The surviving members of their species were rescued by Cabal VAT membrane armies and they have served the Cabal since.
Py'pljj - Powerful, ancient immortal psykers from the beginning of the universe. Only fifty of them are left in the universe as the majority of their kind left a long time ago.

A new unit with the working name of “absorber”. As the name implies, it absorbs it’s victims and the acids inside it’s body slowly melts them down. it’s inspired by the 1980′s version of The Blob. I’m tempted to add some skeletal arms reaching out and maybe some chaos marine helmets, not sure yet.
