I've gotten brief suspensions on BoLS for doing that. Don't see why it'd be a shock for someone else to run into trouble with a forum head for not bowing in obeisance to everyone wanting to feel special and not be disagreed with. Forum mods typically don't like conflict of any kind, it hurts the illusion of some peaceful community all holding hands and singing Kumbaya. Clearly, no such community exists, and only through honest debate can we ever expand our understanding, but, you know... some people are just whiny little *****es.

Note that honest debate doesn't mean that when someone starts acting like a fool, it's not okay to tell them off or even eventually just start mocking them.

(I'm a realistic, not a unicorn. If you want sunshine and lollipops, go to a candy shop in Qatar.)

I forgot BOLS actually even has a front page, I haven't been to it in years. I just have this forum bookmarked and use that link instead. I prefer Beasts of war for things like articles and videos personally. I really like their "hobbylab" series which shows you how to build terrain and they have another series where they interview people that are in the business such as Rick Priestley which was genuinely fascinating to watch.

I hope it comes back on line soon. My favourite Facebook group has been swamped with whiners since its been down. Very irritating it was actually a good hobby page. Now it's decended into "why do character models cost more than a single marine would" and stupid leadership memes followed by "the GW board should listen to this". Bollocks.

No they are probably having a well earned rest, I know I am.

As to the site itself, there has been a very serious problem with the database and the web server.

Are we dead? Not that I know of, but getting WarSeer back up and running is taking much longer than we would have liked.

Do I have an estimate to how long it will take, no and its out of my hands. I will try and find out a bit more though and let you all know.
