now from the description in the codex I assume the official model will look something like a baby thunderhawk, however i wanted something that was more ship than aircraft and this is what ive come up with. Now its only about 90% complete and i still have to fabricate some of the weaponry (ive got magnets embedded in the cheeks and in the engine pods right under the gray dot for the weapon mounts) and the air intakes are atrocious and need to be redone but i think its come together rather well. (Also posted on b&cs)

I'm with Duke on this one. I like the sleek look of it over the Imperial look of the others. I'm a fan of that angled style of intake.

see i'm sadly not really digging it. Kudos on the work though bro, it's a little too starship\scifi network for me. but then i don't really feel like the SR has to be thunderhawkish...my favorite one so far actually wasn't. Great job though...tell me those intakes pivot please? i love my toys to still function like toys...lol

That looks great! PLEASE load up the templates!

What are the assault cannons made out of? Or are they bitz I can`t identify?

And I notice that your Stormraven doesn`t have a cockpit. I find that okay, since many of the kitbash `ravens out there use the valkyrie cockpit which looks a bit like a weak spot on something that`s supposed to re-enter atmosphere on a regular basis. Land Raiders don`t have cockpits, too!

Iim working on organizing the plans a bit so they make sense and should have them posted tomorrow I hope. Now there isnt a normal cockpit, but there is a bridge section, its under the wings in the back you can see the windows i cut out (guess its not immediately noticeable because i shot the photos on my cell phone) this should make it a little more clear (sorry for the quality just did it in paint)

I love this, it looks like it comes from space, and the bridge being at the back gives it a kind of WW2 landing craft feel (like the gorgon for the IG)

good stuff.

I don't know, it looks really good, but it just doesn't have that Imperial feel to it. More of an anime/Tau feel to it.

I like it better than the others (converting from a valkyrie makes it look like a flying metal trash bin, I think).

I will agree, though, that it doesn't quite feel Imperial. The body is good, but the side jets don't quite fit. If those were replaced with a set of thunderhawk style wings, I think this would be perfect.

Hey,
That is the best and most affordable stormraven I've seen so far.
Any word on those templates? I'd love to try and make one just like this

It`s strange, but when you mentioned that thing about the bridge section it immedeatly and irreversibly shifted my percetion of the model.

Now I can only see a 300-metre-long spaceship.

It`s a really cool construction and I`d love to build such a beauty, but for me it just is not a stormraven anymore. For that purpose, the kitbash versions seem to work best.
