Tyrant-guard, Tyranid Prime and silly stuff

Just yesterday I had a strange rules-example happen to me and would like to know what others think about it.


I had a Hive Tyrant who was joined to a tyrant guard and a tyranid prime there as well.

So far there is nothing interesting as the guard is a normal infantry unit, the prime an IC and the tyrant has a special rule that allows him to join.

Now my tyrant guard died and I was left with the tyrant and the prime.


The funny part is that my prime was now in the strange position of beeing attached to a modell he would never be able to join up with from my understanding.

My best guess is that the unit would completely dissolve. The Tyrant was attached to the Guard, and the Prime was as well. They weren't attached to each other, as that isn't allowed in the rules. When the Guard died, the unit completely dissolves and you have a separate Tyrant and Prime.
