Dedated Transport as a distinct unit

I need to settle this once and for all with some guys in my group:

1. Is a dedicated transport a distinct unit by itself?

2. If so, and it is destroyed while members of the squad it was purchased with survive, does this count as a unit destroyed for things like First Blood, Maelstrom of War Objectives etc?

3. Can a dedicated Transport score for holding an objective by itself?

As Charon properly pointed, yes to all 3, just adding since now everything scores, it's worth to remember that the Dedicated transport also can benefit from the objetive secured from normal CAD if they belong to a normal line troop and deny other units without such rule.
