I've been listening to the Adepticon interviews on the Gamers Lounge podcast ....

http://gamerslounge.coda.net/?p=124

During the first interview with Katie Brunt who's Aaron Dembski-Bowden (Black Library) girlfriend and she mentioned something quite interesting. She's not a gamer and only just started collecting SoB, she mentions that FW are bringing out some excellent models for her army.

Now, I haven't seen anything from FW on SoB or Inq but as she's not an employee, more someone in a privileged position, I'm wondering if she's dropped a big one letting that slip!

Have a listen for yourselves and see what you think.

Sounds cool I suppose, but the next FW release is supposed to be Necrons versus Mechanicus.

Never heard of any actual Sisters stuff from FW aside from the alternate immolator and exorcist kits, and the Repressor models.

I don't think thats been substantiated Melissia, that they want to do Mechanicus is certainly the case but I've not seen anything personally giving a time frame, though Necrons are the natural adversary.

Perhaps, but somehow it seems more believable.

It has been mentioned as something they intend to do after teh current Imperial vs Ork, then Imperial vs Eldar and Imperial vs Slannehs+Nurgle books. It seems to be confirmed, but a long way off. No reason why SoB can't be part of the Imperial part of any of these.
I really hope FW does do some SoB stuff, they need it.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Sisters versus Orks or Sisters versus Eldar.

I kinda hesitate on the Sisters versus Slaanesh. I can see that being done very, very tastelessly...

Yup, Sisters of Battle vs Slaanesh aka "Fapfest 2012: Look what that Daemonette is doing to Sister Cecilia with her tail!"
I guess its possible the upcoming IA book with Orks and Ravenguard (I think?) could have SoB too.

I thought the next book after they do Imperium vs Ork was going to be Dark Eldar vs Eldar. Yet seeing Sisters of Battle would be nice but that probably won't be until after we get our new codex (hopefully with little or no Inquisition in it). As for the sisters vs slannesh if they did that, they might bring in Mirial Sabathial. Yet I would like to see the sisters fight Eldar, doesn't matter if it's normal or dark eldar.

Sisters could easily be in the Mechanicus/Necron book, there to get vengeance for Sanctuary 101.

And when is Tzeentch going to get some love? I thought they did Nurgle already?

It may well have been Slanesh and Tzeentch, I forget. Probably was, come to think of it.:o

yeah Sisters could easily be a part of any "imperial" release, much like the RG are only getting a small part of the IA:8. It seems the current trend in IA books is to only partially commit a book to a imperial faction so they can spread out the love, and i suppose fluff wise most armies rarely fight alone, so it makes sense on that front too...

Ordo Hereticus/SOB would fit in quite nicely to the Imperium vs Eldar.

If it's Ordo Hereticus, I couldn't give a damn though.

I've heard rumors that SoB and DH are being moved to Forge World entirely. I would actually like to see that as they're both niche armies and FW could probably do a better job with the models.

if they went to forgeworld then what would GW do with there plastic greyknight sculpts

That's not confirmed as far as I know. Rumors are just that... rumors.

sculpts have been done for a while just like the deathstrike missile launcher for guard that was painted roughly six months ago by the studio

Is this just another rumour or can you confirm the sculpts have been made?

I'd be very surprised to see any established race be moved entirely to FW. Completely unprecedented, especially since there are still rumours floating about GW doing SoB and DH codices.

Agreed... it's really something they haven't done before...

FW does handle specialist lists and forces. It could be GW's way of taking the pressure off the studio by passing a force that isn't really played over to FW. What's the point of investing in new plastic molds for an entire range when there's no that much interest in them in the first place.

Melissia

There IS interest in Sisters though, untapped. Plastic Sisters of Battle models are consistently one of the highest requested items both on the net and in my own locale. Far more than Dark Eldar for that matter...

Most likely FW will only pick up part of the SoB line, similar to how it's done with Imperial Guard. I'm guessing FW will release variant tanks and updated niche models like the Penitent Engine. GW will release plastics for the basic troops plus 1-2 others and metals for the HQ choices. There will probably be several units in the codex without models.

Melissia

I doubt it. More than likely they will make it so that most of the choices use the same models as Battle Sisters, again, but I at least hope they produce a squad iwth BP+CCW for Celestians-- complete with crusades-era longswords.
