Hello

one of the armies I play is Salamanders and I use Vulkan. At my last tournment they said that I could not use "Combat Squads rule (spliting my units) because I used Vulkan. Why would that be, you lose combat tactics not combat squad when you take him.

Am I correct or were they?

You were most definatly correct, As you say, using Vulkan only replaces the chapter tactics which allows voluntary morale test failures, not the ability to combat squad. Combat squads is a compleatly seperate special rule.
