Hello!

Remember our Display quality Knight Lancer (http://www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/showthread.php?55714-Knight-Lancer-s-last-stand-display-piece-by-Awaken-Realms) we’ve done some time ago? We had the great opportunity to paint in such scheme not only the Lancer, but three Imperial Knights alongside him! How do you like the whole Household painted in such manner? I like them... The unified theme looks great. The colors are great. The poses are great.

However, putting on my critical internet troll hat here, I think the swirly airbrush style has run its course, there's no rhyme or reason to it (lets do cool blue swirlies). And once you learn to airbrush properly, it's easy to the point of cheating. If perhaps you did actual flame motifs, which are barely a step further, I would have been more impressed. Or some equally simple gradients. I am just not getting "energy burst smoke from a random spot"

Second, its almost painful to see that much work go into a base and paint, then not see barrels drilled out. Especially on models with so few to do. If it was a request to not do them from the commissioner, then I guess, but thats like 30 seconds total for all the models to get stubbers and melta guns drilled out.

Im being overly critical since this is a paid job. Its still impressive and will look good on a table. If it were just a hobbyist that did it on their own I would have been more impressed...well maybe not the barrel issue. But as a commissioned studio, I want to see that top tier, even for your table top work. The standards for you guys should always be top 20% minimum quality...

Thank you for pointing out those elements;) While I agree that the barrels of meltagouns and stubbers could have been drilled indeed, I can not totally agree with the airbrush patterns. While certailny there is a lot of airbrush used, please tae a look that each "energy swirl" is using an nmount of actual brushwork all tohose fine, white lines are done with brush entirely.

Also, the scheme is just one of many we've produced so far (and customer liked it so much that was willing to order several knights done in such scheme). the blue looks incredible. how 'easy' it may or may not be to do has no impact whatsoever on the quality of the final finish.

Excellent talent. However the paint scheme screams 'West Coast Customs' and not 'I am a Knight - whose very name implies chivalry and heraldry'...

No offense intended as I know my work would never be this good, but it does kinda look like a old windows screen saver. Or is that just me? :3 But I do love the fire Knight

The realistic flames are cool, but I really love those junkyard bases!
