Scratch Building an Astropath

Hey
So I want to scratch build an Astropath. I would just buy the regimental advisers set but I don't plan on using Master of the Fleet or MoO so it seems like a waste to pay that much for two models I dont need. Anyways, I was wondering if any one out there had done so and could give me some tips or advise on how to work it. I have plenty of green stuff so thats not a problem. If you have done it, what model would you recommend using as the base for the Astro?

Great scratch build. I hadnt thought of doing something that is similar in thought but not just a dude in a robe. Ill keep that in mind.

I do really like ColCorbanes model. I myself use an older Primus Psyker models, for the other 2 advisors I used the new plastic command squad kit. I was easily able to build a MoO and an OotF.

If you are not opposed to using metal models, the Witch Hunter Henchmen make good (thought rather expensive) bases for astropath conversions.
