Greetings. I've recently gotten back into 40k after taking a long break...way back to second edition.

I've started an Ultramarines army to get back into the swing of things. There have been a lot of changes since 2nd edition. Back then I had a CSM army and a Tyranid army.

Welcome back! Those 2nd edition Nids are some special models... I still like pulling mine out for the sheer weirdness factor!

Yeah. The warriors were definitely strange. The Carnifex was an almost solid chunk of metal, and they came on square bases.

Still so much fun! I think the old Carnifex weighs a full kg and would be considered a deadly weapon if tossed at your opponent! :D

Got a 2nd ed 'fex somewhere with the claws replaced with the plastic ones from the plastic kit.

Sometimes that is the best thing to do to an opponet. Then stress about trying to glue/pin/pray to get it back together
