if i target a dedicated transport with the kastelans and destroy it would the Kataphrons destroyers get the +1BS and ignores cover when shooting at the squad that was inside (as the transport was bought fort that unit)?

Unfortunately, no. Similar to assaulting a unit after shooting their ride, its treated as a separate unit for all game purposes, even when purchased as a dedicated transport. 😕

How is that similar to charging a unit after shooting their transport? You CAN charge a unit after shooting their transport.
