View Full Version : Ymgarl Genestealsers and Kill Teams, Hive Guard and Shrouding

Played my first kill teams game with the new rules, and quite enjoyed it. We did have an interesting little issue come up, however;

You aren't allowed reserves, but what about ymgarl genestealers? They're kinda sorta not in reserves when they hide in terrain...

We played that they were allowed to hide and pop up, since we both thought it was fair.





We also ran into a second, more general issue. Can a Hive Guard (which does not need LOS) freely target a unit of Grey Knights (who force their opponents to test for Shrouding).

On one hand, shrouding blocks shooting if the opponent fails the range test (3d6x3"). On the other hand, Guard can shoot any units within their range, ignoring LOS.

We just rolled off to see what to do.

Thoughts?

I say Ymgarls can hid and come out when ever they are rolled, because, if any unit was in that area terrian, the Ymgarls are destroyed. If they were Reserve off the table, then they can pop out randomly wich they can't do.

As for the GK Ageis armour, you still have to roll the 3D6 X3 or what ever the rule. Yes the Hive Guard don't need line of site, but think of the living ammo, they will have a harder time in homing in on the GK.
