Hotshot lasguns and orders

I'm starting an Imperial Guard army and there is one thing that bothers me.

Is it possible to give Storm Troopers the First Rank Fire, Second Rank Fire order ?

Sorry if this question has been asked before but i couldn't find it :p

There has been a thread on the subject and the answer was defiantly no. The two weapons are different and have their own stat lines.
