So I got a message telling me to go help defend th Castle from attack, Iget there, no attack, hang around for ages, no attack. Leave and fast travel somewhere else, get a failed to defend notice and the entire population of the Castle are ded. Reload, wait around longer, no attack, get grumpy, go somewhere else, fail notice, all but one person ded. Reload, wander around, get bored shoot a Brahmin that was hanging about, loot synth components of the Brahmin, defend Castle success notice...

Synth Brahmins. It was a cowardly attack...

lol

I have killed quite a few synths, but only the obvious looking ones. but I have seen the load screen messages about human looking ones too. was in the Castle and I saw a new settler who was obviously an infiltrating doom robot. was a bout to shoot when I realised they were a non-feral ghoul... first one I had seen in 4, though a few more have turned up as settlers since.

There is a whole settlement of ghouls you can recruit in the east as well.

Only had to defend the castle once. Had to walk the walls twice before anyone turned up to attack. Group of raiders walked out from the left hand path that approaches the doors. Don't think any made it to the courtyard though tbh.

It may already have been mentioned, but the Scrapper perk is very useful. Lets you get extra materials when you scrap weapons and armour, including copper and so forth, then more rare materials in the second rank. Combine it and the travel while heavily encumbered and salvage runs become very lucrative.

Oh yeah, that perk has added so much stuff to my stash! A lot of materials I couldn't find are coming from all the guns I'd been breaking down for just wood and steel before. Huge boost. Worth getting both ranks, definitely.

I really need to stop talking to Preston, he keeps sending me on the same missions. 23 hours in and I have done virtually no story missions, just set up settlements and responded to calls for help.

It's not so bad when it's different settlements and all, but in under a week's time Mr. Abernathy has managed to have his wife *and* his daughter kidnapped, and I'm pretty sure there was an earlier kidnapping there. Since there's an offer to give him the caps to pay the ransom (since he's "too poor"), I've become convinced it's a scam he's running where one of the women in his family is "kidnapped" and he tries to convince someone (i.e. me) to pay the ransom, and he gets a nice cut of that.

don't know about the artillery, I assume it is just limited by the marker grenades.

Check your workbench if you get low. In Sanctuary Hills (where I did set up one or two pieces, so that might have something to do with it), I can get another 10-12 artillery markers every time I go back to town and check that (plus 10 flares). I think I have a hefty collection of them by now.

Kirsten
11-23-2015, 09:20 AM
yeah I know, I have plenty. it is one of those things where realistically I probably wont remember to ever use them, especially as I can't find any way to show on the map what the coverage is, so if I don't know, I wont bother throwing a marker.

Erik Setzer

In my game I've gotten up to over 50 hours in. I think I'm mostly through the main story, but it's hard to tell. Been going around helping out all over the place. I have a lot of settlements, and keeping them all in good shape isn't easy. Some of the trickier ones include an old Raider camp in the middle of town, or, worse, the Croup Manor, which doesn't have room to really build around the house, and the house itself is wrecked, so anyone who comes there won't really have shelter (two people apparently wandered in, but can't find them to link one to Sanctuary Hills so I can actually build anything).

So far the repeatable quest givers I've found are Garvey (who always seems to have a pair of missions at any given time), the two Brotherhood folks in Cambridge Police Station (one gives quest to get a piece of tech, the other quests to clear locations), and the technical guy on the Prydwen (I think... he offers to let you go on patrols, which I assume are infinite quests). It's a nice way to build up XP, but can be maddening if you're a completionist, so for now I've set aside most of them until I'm closer to done with the main story.

Synth Brahmin... hmm. Now I'm paranoid about all the brahmin I see in camps where I didn't buy them or put in a trough.

With Charisma, maxing it out *does* make a difference at points in the game. I've talked people into standing down, turning themselves in, giving me more money, all kinds of things. And it was totally worth it to "pacify" a freaking Glowing Deathclaw. (Note: If you get the "incite" rank of the pacify perks, you might keep a Raider from attacking you, but not from attacking the person you're trying to escort out of an area.)

Granted, my shooting is messy because of not many points in Agility, but to make up for that, I've maxed out my perks for modifying weapons and armor. Sometimes it's hard to actually hit a target (especially if they're fast), but I have weapons that can just lay out a Raider or a Ghoul in one shot (rifles, mind you... the shotgun's even nastier). I have an auto-laspistol that just wrecks things, but I have to get close because I apparently can't aim worth squat (like the character can actually miss even if you target correctly).

I'm doing more with bases now. Not as impressive as some folks, but that'll come once I'm done dealing with the Brotherhood-Institute-etc. mess. For now, I feel pretty good. I have a nice u-shaped courtyard at the Drive-In with booths lined up to but from and tables with chairs in the middle. At Sanctuary Hills I've adjusted a lot... Merged the buildings with my settlers' beds so it's just one three story metal building with beds upstairs and seating downstairs (metal buildings are a PITA to build right). Small bunker for my power armour and workshop; armour downstairs, all the crafting areas upstairs along with a bench and a table to relax and talk to someone. Rec room's now got pool table, dining table, seating, and a corner with a disco ball and jukebox (and seems to be where a lot of settlers spend their down time). My "house" has a pair of beds and dressers, desk with chair, and even a couch with a TV. And both main paths into the place have layers of turrets. Next step is getting the caps to put together bigger shops and building a proper marketplace. Sadly, a lot of space is also being taken up by a building that's story-related (which made it awkward showing a friend around the area, because explaining it would be a bit of a spoiler).

I am having a blast so far and I'm not sure when I'll be done with this playthrough, but I'm sure a second one with a different type of character will be tons of fun as well. And I still haven't see what the modding community will do, or the DLC Bethesda is planning.

Yeah, that's why I have a bunch of them. I'm trying to build more artillery, but you have to assign someone to them. And then there's the problem that the marker takes your grenade slot (I just ended up using my "favorites" for different types of grenades to get around that).

How high can population go, and does the game still have that old Combat Armour? I may have to await the modding community's handiwork, but I think with the ability to build mighty fortresses, fill them with guns and artillery, and have a population dedicated to its eternal defense, I could build an epic Cadia-esque settlement. :P

The colour of it changes slightly depending on how it is modded. Mine is pale because I've made them all ultra-lightweight, the default is a much darker green.

I found out something kind of funny this week... Piper is apparently religious. I was in a ruined church and had to wait for someone for a mission (not going to say the mission, might be a spoiler), and I decided to kill time by sitting on a pew and waiting. When the time was up, I saw Piper sitting on the pew in front of me. Moved around and saw her sitting there with her hands clasped and her head bowed, as if she was praying. I've never seen her do that anywhere. But then, it might also help explain why she's not as "open" as everyone seems to think. (Recruited Macready last night and immediately got Piper back before she left, and as he left Macready made a horribly veiled attempt at a pass on her, which got shot down. Makes me wonder who else is secretly eyeing her...)

Just got the island, so I haven't been able to do anything that crazy with it yet. I actually had to go to one of my existing settlements and tell them to create a supply line to it so I could build much of anything. Especially important as I'd gone around on a mad scrapping spree and didn't realize they were using trees to attach connectors to with the line running out to the boat for power, so I needed to build power pylons and had no mats. Just setting up a building for beds and some basic furniture and lighting it ran me out of copper.

I'm getting further along the stuff I think I need to complete before wrapping up the main storyline. Once I'm done with all that, I'm going to go hunting for scrap everywhere and building some serious settlements.

Is there a mod for scrapping buildings that aren't classified as ruined? Or for patching them up? Sanctuary Hills has too many wrecked homes that are in too bad shape to use for housing, and then there's the mess that's Croup Manor, a completely shattered house with no serious shelter that takes up most of the small space allocated to that settlement.

Oh yeah, also got to level 50 and unlocked the final stage of the Intimidation perk. It's brilliant to walk up to a Raider and get him to hand over all his weapons and armor, and even fetch for you and attack people. Sadly, there's still the issue where it resets their behavior if you even just log into a terminal or go to pick a lock, so some guy started trying to punch me with nothing but the clothes on his back... that ended bad for him.

I've also got Battlefront and Assassin's Creed.....and I still need to go back to Until Dawn.

I'm a lazy, feckless gamer, I am.

Eh... I finally got FO3 to play on my PC, need to play it. Got to wrap up FONV. Think I'm 1/2 to 3/4 through Skyrim (but still a lot I can do there). Got Kingdoms of Amalur to finish up some day. Metro 2033 and Last Light. The Batman games (especially with Arkham Knight now patched to work on PC). Assorted sports games. Try playing some Space Engineers, and actually dive into Divinity: Dragon Commander. Wrap up South Park: The Stick of Truth, and Spec Ops: The Line. Oh, and Borderlands 2. Got The Witcher 1 and 2, and saw 3 on sale for half off, need to play those. Barely started Dragon Age: Inquisition. There's also the Bioshock and Gears of War trilogies, still haven't got those started yet. And I got Tomb Raider free on XBox. Maybe try to get used to driving in GTA V enough I can actually make some progress in it, at least online (though lack of "legitimate" stuff to do takes away some of the fun). Oh, and I need to prep for Legion in World of Warcraft, and level up some more heroes in Marvel Heroes (and maybe see if I can gear them up, but I don't do raiding in that game, so not really necessary).

There's a lot of others I could list. You shouldn't feel even remotely ashamed of your "backlog."

I'm not going to get into my figures backlog... but they're what keeps me alive.

Also I think the first power core you get with the quest armour runs out super fast, all my subsequent cores I've used have lasted way longer.

If you need cloth, loot all the pre-war money you come across. Also clothing off everybody. Invest a point in rank 1 of Scrapper to get copper and stuff from weapons too and loot all the pipe rifles you can.

I was wandering around the west of the map last night and I stumbled across a raider den in a ruined motel or something, caught them so much by surprise the Raider boss had got out of his power armour, I was able to beat him to it and steal the power armour frame and kill him and his crew with it. It was hilarious.

Psychosplodge
11-30-2015, 04:28 AM
Yeah but I'm saving pre-war money because reasons. It is handy that it respawns behind the bank every few days or so.

But yeah I've got two ranks in scrapper, and my earlier copper issues have become less of an issue.

Yeah a lot of it you find out by trial and error. I tagged oil for search and can't figure out how to untag it...

eldargal

If you don't need cloth pre-war money is excellent for caps, no weight, decent value, found everywhere.

It's still an issue if you go making big neon signs for your settlement hehe.:p But I get more from scrapping pipe rifles after hitting a raider or super mutant den than Iget looting everything with copper in it in said dens. Of course I do both.

So in other news I just discovered you can simultaneously romance Piper and Curie...

Or anyone, really. Jim Sterling did a video expressing joy over how you can do polyamorous relationships in FO4 without getting penalized for it.

Though with some characters, it might be weird... like Piper. She's turned down two other characters so far, not sure how she'd feel being in that kind of relationship. Maybe as long as your side loving doesn't involve her?

So after over 90 hours of gameplay and over 60 levels, I finally finished the main quest line (still a few more locations to check out, then some serious work on settlements, and maybe a second playthrough).

Oof. It's a rollercoaster.

Spoilerific commentary in white below.

The route I took was helping the Synths to escape and get into the general populace, so helping the Railroad and Minutemen.

Memorable moments for me:

The Shaun reveal. I might have expected something like that, but it was still just crazy. Well, both reveals (including the later one that he was dying).

The Battle of Bunker Hill, when I was still "friendly" with all of the factions, had Synths and Brotherhood both attacking the Railroad, so I had to kill a lot of Brotherhood. Which started my collection of BoS power armor, that eventually has grown to three dozen or more sets of armor. It was hectic trying to figure out who to shoot to protect the Railroad (since no one's marked as enemy), especially when a trader wandered in, who I was able to save by using Pacify on him. Shaun's post-Battle comments on the rooftop were a bit sad. I'd hoped to convince him to use the Institute to help the Commonwealth, and that I was proof it wasn't beyond saving.

Taking down the Prydwen... Going onto the ship wearing X-01 armor and just mowing down BoS (more armor!) and setting it to blow. Maxon wasn't in his usual spot when I went in, but heading out he was there with a couple of helpers, and I had to quickly take them out. Watching that sucker blow up and crash into the airport was amazing. I want to go back and see how it all looks.

And the final run through the Institute while taking it down for good... Leading a Synth rebellion, talking to a dying Shaun and having to work hard to convince him to at least help me save some of his people, the Synth version of Shaun begging me to take him with me (and I did, I'm not heartless), and finally watching it all blow in the distance... followed by the closing monologue.

I went from looking for my son to having to work against him to save a world I didn't know much about beyond that there were people worth saving. The "ideal life" imagined in the opening was completely shattered. It was one of the saddest stories I've played through in a game, though with a touch of hope as I knew I had an army behind me and the resources to clean up the Commonwealth for good and restart civilization in the area.

Even with the main story done, there's still a lot to do. Visited the USS Constitution last night, and the Atom Cats (took forever to remember to find their location), and there's more places already marked on my map but with more to come, and I could indefinitely keep helping settlements until I get bored.

I need to find a mod that actually works in increasing settlement "size" for objects. One of the ones on Nexus needs "Cheat Engine," which I don't trust. I did get a mod for more settlers, which might become an issue without more "size." Already have two or three settlements with settlers numbering in the low 20s. I also grabbed a couple mods with more stuff to build in settlements, but I don't see those options appearing in-game, so I'm not sure what the deal is there (maybe I have to do more than just use NMM to install the mods).

The game is so fun that I can't see myself prying away from it for another couple of weeks at least. And when DLC starts arriving, I'll come running back.

First one she turned down was Cait (who suggested a threesome). Then MacCready, who asks for a "one-on-one interview." I haven't seen anyone else make a pass at her. I can't think off the top of my head of anyone else who would.

Piper's kind of funny because she has a flexible set of morals, practically the very definition of Chaotic Good. There's so many things that seem contradictory but make sense. She's a pretty interesting character, not even remotely one-dimensional.

Don't forget that sprinting is also your friend. When I was fighting in that plant, I had to run around a lot to move between cover and make up ground faster. Sure, you can't use VATS as much afterward, but VATS is kind of useless if you're trying to pick off someone a long distance away who's shooting you with a longer ranger weapon.

Mod your weapons and armor when you can. It's totally worth investing in those perks. My character isn't particularly strong, not an amazing shot with a gun, and not that tough, but can wade through Raider camps by now just because I mod every bit of gear to the max. (But seriously, a max-modded Overseer's Guardian is freaking obscene, especially if you also max out the automatic weapons damage boosting perk.)

In other notes, I really need to brush up on my Lovecraft so I stop wandering into places named "Dunwich Borers" or "Pickman Gallery" and being surprised at what I see.

For added fun: Go to Pickman Gallery with Piper as your companion. If they'd programmed a retching sound, I think I would have heard it at some point in there. Pinkman Gallery is in the southeast. With Dunwich Borers, you have to actually go inside to really experience all of it. Outside is just a bunch of raiders. Inside is where the fun begins.

I think the extreme north east is also where Salem (and the Witchcraft school) is. Sadly, I wasn't able to learn any witchcraft or even just get a witch outfit from there. Wasted opportunity. :-P

Don't feel ashamed to go into options and turn down the combat difficulty, especially if it's hurting your enjoyment of the game. Some fights can be really brutal, even if you're an FPS veteran, and unlike Battlefront you don't have more than one person helping you (and sometimes their help is questionable).

Power armor being ignored sounds like the combat settings are a bit too high. Granted, I didn't use the power armor that much early on, and by the time I started using it to tangle serious stuff, I'd modded the heck out of it.

Even if it's not your thing, I'd definitely recommend taking time whenever you can to use a cooking station or chemical lab to craft food and/or drugs. They can come in handy, but more importantly, that bit of extra XP will help you level faster.

Kirsten

the story missions are a lot less repetitive, but as the game is half way between an FPS and an RPG there are a lot of RPG style fetch quest elements yeah

Go to diamond city, that points you on the next step. Though I've got four days of playtime and haven't passed that yet.

If you play it like a fps you are going to suffer. It is essentially a RPG underneath the guns. So solve this. Fetch this. Kill that. But the story is good. The easter eggs are fun. But if this is your first fallout game you will miss some references from previous titles.

But you have shooting, combat, building, hunting, crafting, exploring, dungeon crawling, a story, silliness, random events.
But if you're new to it I can see how its thrown you in the deep end to some extent.

I rescued a kidnapped settler, sneaking in to the raider base via a secret tunnel. so when we came out of the front door, there were loads of enemies there still. settler disappeared for a few seconds, came back in a full suit of power armour. where the hell did you just get that from? then he disappeared with it back to his farm.

I had a random event where two identical people were shooting at each other, one killed the other and wandered off moaning about synths, but weirder still there was a third identical body in a house next to where they were fighting. No clue to which one was actually a synth.

Best place to get ammo?

Psychosplodge
12-02-2015, 08:00 AM
Scavenger perk. its at far right two or three down on the chart. Literally every container I open has ammo of some sort in. Those I don't use can be exchanged with merchants for those I do need. Treat calibres you don't use as caps. I can't think of the last time I actually spent caps on anything. I normally have enough water/drugs/ammo to swap for anything.

Early game look for a weapon with accuracy over rate of fire. Save the automatic weaponry for when you have spare ammo. A couple of stars in scavenger and you'll not worry about it. With one rank in scavenger I was having to buy .45 rounds for piper's gun. Last night I was running around with an automatic combat rifle and still finding more than I used.

Either that or put everything in strength and endurance, find yourself a powerfist and go fisting across the wasteland :D

eldargal

Scavenger perk is great.

to elaborate on 'splodges point about swapping ammo, pick one or two ammo types and stick with them. Like .308 for sniping and 10mm or .556 or .45 for close quarters. Sell all the other ammo you don't need, buy what you do need.

When I realised I wasn't using .38 ammo anymore I had 4800 rounds of it, and that was without Scavenger, just what I had picked up killing raiders and looting ammo crates.

Also after the next couple of story missions you'll get quite a few more vendors including dedicated weapons ones in settlements you'll go through.

- - - Updated - - -

Oh and while companions do need ammo, settlers only need a single bullet as they don't use ammo, so you can take the excess from them (or give them a minigun with a single 5mm bullet and it'll all be good)

I bumped in to one of my provisioners last night who looked a bit worried and said 'whatever you do, don't go near the asylum' then a mission pops up, investigate the asylum. no, did you not just hear what she said? she said don't go to the asylum. this is how horror films start.

Nah, go check it out. It's worth it. Though it's a little convoluted on what to do. Once you go there and "investigate," the quest trail goes cold. It's only later, when you go somewhere else that it doesn't tell you to go (I had to go to the place for story reasons), that you run into someone who then starts the REAL questline for the asylum. It took me a moment to remember about going to the asylum in the first place.

And Piper fell in the sea, and swam out. And then continued to swim down the road after me. And then round the inside(loading screen type inside) of a building. Had to reload from desktop to clear that one.

I know I'm sound a right negative nancy, but I'm not particularly enjoying the base building.

Is there a mission which provides a tutorial on how to build decent sized buildings and that? I've just been defaulting to the pre-fab big shack.

Psychosplodge
12-03-2015, 07:03 AM
I'm struggling at times with placement, and that's with the benefit of a mouse. I imagine the control pad even worse.

If you start with wood ->floors then theres two types foundation concrete and shack floor iirc.
These can be built "into" the ground. Get one of these at the height you want the floor.
Then jiggle extra pieces to lock to that one till you have the floor area you want.
Then throw a wall around the edge. Or use the half size pieces to give you an overhang about the size of a bed. There are wall pieces appropriate to the ends of these as well.
Don't forget a doorway.
Some steps should lock to the door frame.
again pick a roof. (I generally use the flat metal roof) Jiggle it around near the top of the walls till it locks.

Theres probably some youtube videos that will be useful.

Mr Mystery

Will have a look see.

I just find there's not enough description on the bits as you select them to know what to place and when.

So far, Sanctuary has a wall right round the living area, with two sentry guns and a guard post just outside, plus a further guard post and two sentry guns down by the bridge to Red Rocket.

The rest is just a big old bag of 'meh'. But then, it's not essential to the game. Reckon I'll continue with the main story and do fetch missions for a bit.

Thre is a questline you get from Preston Garvey that gives you some basic settlement taks to teach you the basics, but I'd really recommend reading some tutorials online. It's not a difficult system (though using a controller might make it harder), but it requires some getting used to.
Also remember one of the great strengths of Fallout is exploration, just wandering about seeing what you find and what you can kill and loot, so don't just focus on main missions wander around and explore and see whar you find.:) Not that it will hurt doing the main storyline of course.

A lot of it takes some getting used to. I think a bunch of games these days suffer from the companies skipping on manuals, which used to be in every game (even something like Super Mario Brothers). With digital games it's easy enough to include a PDF with the download (like GOG does for old games).

Don't expect to make awesome, impressive, amazing settlements early on. You have to get used to it, and get the mats to build. It took me a while before I started figuring out how to do some stuff, so now I look back even at some of the things I originally liked and I feel I could do them better. (In some cases, I *need* to do better, like building a much larger building for power armor suits after the BOS provided me with three dozen suits.) For example, don't put your "home" next to the main entrance to Sanctuary, because you'll spend too much time hearing freaking Brahmin on the way in and out (especially if you have a bunch of provisioners).

In Sanctuary, my shops - the top-level ones, at that - are all just lined up on the street. Looks awful, really. But at the Drive-In, I have a u-shaped metal area set up for the shops there, with patio tables and chairs, and a fence around the seating area. On the island, I've got a wooden platform set up on the beach (with ladders for "stairs") with shops, a bar, places to sit and enjoy, defenses... You get better at figuring it out as you go along.

Don't compete with the over-achievers. It's like trying to match Mike McVey's paint jobs with only six months of painting experience.

For weapons, you should definitely get the modding perks. They help a lot. And figure out which class of weapon you prefer, and perk that up, too. I went from feeling like I was crap in combat to just mowing people down because I modded automatic weapons, usually rifles, and then maxed out the automatic weapons perks.

Once you have a good set with all the pieces and even a couple of mods your armor should protect you from pretty much anything. Been playing on very hard and most enemies attacks deal between 1-3% health. Unless they have mini-nukes, missles, or something similar. Some enemy melee can be pretty nasty too, legendary mirelurks are mean.

Then again I build a high str/end character so I can wreck people with super sledges. So =P

Mannequins... yeah, you'll probably shoot a few if you're itchy on the trigger finger.

I ran into the "stealing" a fusion core back problem with the Atom Cats when I first met them. Got confused on where the frame I bought was, so I ended up putting a core in the wrong frame, and then trying to get it back pissed everyone off so I had to reload a saved game (glad the game saves a lot).

I've been playing some with with a second play-through (actually over eight hours into that, and my original's got over 100 hours in it, too), and a mostly melee character is fun (have to switch to guns for flying bugs, people in heights, and suicide mutants... sadly, I've run out of grenades to throw, and don't have nearly enough adhesive to make more rather than modding stuff). I wasn't even going to do much with lockpicking and hacking skills, but had to get lockpicking to Advanced just so I could pick the lock on Grognak's Axe's case. Now I'm running around with Grognak's Axe and Outfit and it's glorious (especially since the "Outfit" is just chest armor, so you can still wear arms, legs, and helmet). Just run up to a guy and SPLAT! Prior to that, I had a modified Chinese Officer's Sword, and a serrated combat knife which just mauled people. During the stand-off with Skinny Malone, I walked up behind him and, right as combat started, popped Jet and a beer, and killed Malone, his girlfriend, and one of the two Triggermen before the Jet wore off, then cornered the other and stabbed him to death, too.

Admittedly, I might be enjoying stabbing and slicing things to death a bit much. (And when interviewed by Piper about the how the world is different, I admitted to enjoying having so many things to blow up.) All in all, Cait is definitely the perfect companion for that character (though I might have to give up some of the drug use once she gets clean).

Also took the opportunity in an early morning in Sanctuary with my "main" character to go set up an area for the shops and move them around to it, behind the building with the workshop and overlooking the river. Set up a bar, a jukebox, benches, tables, even a couple of covered tables for two along the river. And reshuffled the layers of turrets on the entrance to be able to concentrate on the road but not look awful clogging it. Seems like while other folks are building serious fortresses and stuff like that, I'm trying to build settlements that actually feel like they're civilized, little beacons of light in a dark world, a place someone would want to live... while also having so many weapons trained on any point someone might attack that anyone foolish enough to do so gets mulched. :-P

It's really fun, but I would definitely recommend having some kind of ranged weapons to deal with anything you can't get to. The flying bugs will get out of your reach too easily, and sometimes there's someone on a roof. One option is to put points into demolitions, so you can make grenades and get a grenade arc (very helpful). So then you stab or grenade people, depending on the situation. Also mod the weapons... serrated knife does a good bit more damage.

They're not kidding about how fast the knife attacks are, either. When you do an attack, it swings three times in quick succession. (That can be a mild issue if your companion runs up close, because the bad guy might be dead and then you're accidentally stabbing your friend.)

At higher levels they are surprisingly not so rough. Had one in a building with me, couldn't figure out where he was, showed up running right at me from a few feet away, I shot at him while running but he blew up close. Took just a bit, maybe ~10%, off my health. But by this point I'm rocking armored clothing and hat, and have a lot of the damage reduction perks.

I've gotten to a point where I'm doing more settlement work. Wish the mods worked right with the beta patch, I found two with extra items but they keep unloading. It'd be nice to have extra stuff to build. (Hey Bethesda, get on that!) I've done more and more to set up settlements that are relatively pleasant. For example, used the concrete square in Jamaica Plains to set up their shops and tables, with lighting. Also found out you can hang light bulbs on the umbrella of a patio table, so you can do lit seating. Built another building in Sanctuary Hills that currently has a bunch of tables set up for Minutemen meetings, a floor for dancing to some music, and a rooftop area with seating, basketball hoops, and a nice view of Sanctuary. And I added lights to the tree in the cul-de-sac (you can put the lights that attach to the side of buildings on it, makes for an interesting look), with benches around it to sit. At the drive-in, I built a larger building to hold all of the people's beds, will have more seating and entertainment when I can, and defenses overlooking the trading plaza below. All quite fun.

Speaking of things looking more pleasant... Found a couple of mods, first one was "A Touch of Green" which adds some green to the grass and such on the ground. Other one added leaves to trees. It's a very different look from the blasted mess of the default game, but I think it's better. After all, the fruit plants and such tend to be green, and we've seen in plenty of areas that a nuclear incident (whether bomb or meltdown) doesn't actually decimate the ecosystem of an area permanently. With it having been 210 years since the bombs dropped, that's even more reason for nature to have corrected itself. It also adds a nice touch of "nature overrunning the ruins of mankind," which is a cool feeling for a post-apocalyptic world. I'll attach a screenshot to give an example.

Now, where does one go to sell off industrial quantities of drugs and that?

I fenced mine in Diamond City mostly I think, also bunker Hill maybe. That was a fun mission, also nice to actually get a decent haul, hate quests which are like 'this haul will set us up for ever!' and then you get the equivalent of like 300 caps or something.

Apparently, Vault 81 is the place to flog Jet. 75 caps a bottle.....

I really need to go to vault 81.

Don't forget you can make your own jet to trade like the purified water trade.

I've got something like 92 Jet in my inventory.

And that's before I've done over the Drug Factory.

I'm such a naughty Sole Survivor!

I need to go do the drugs factory.

Mr Mystery

Might do that tonight.

Big Si is meant to be coming over, but he's about as reliable as a Tory is honest.

I haven't found a drugs factory. I never have many drugs, I always sell them off for ammo

It's a mission you can access in Diamond City.

I killed everyone else involved, because nobody harshes my mellow by dragging me into their personal sob stories, and then demands half the earnings.

I thought as much.

The guy who get beaten up by the Barman in the posh bar?

Find him, find your mission.

Is it?. I found a scrap of paper on a raider saying theres a massive stash of drugs at such and such a location, and it added a mission under the miscellaneous tab for me.

Oh, fair enough.

I found it via Diamond City mission and interrogating the survivor of my well sneaky missile attack.

I cleared the Gwenit ale brewery yesterday. I thought it was kinda cool how one of the PCs had updates about other groups of raiders I'd wiped out elsewhere.

Nice.

I'm going to seek out Vault 81 tonight, then go become a Drugs Baron.

And Codsworth can shut it.

Oh I've found it, I've just ignored it.

Found a teddy sacrifice, and the "romantic" teddys about to ****, and another pair doing oral this weekend. :D

When I opened a locker and found two bears 69ing, I figured it wasn't just coincidental placement, given all the other bears set up everywhere. I've started taking screencaps of them as I come across them all.

Yeah seen them as well, but I forgot to screen cap those. I have quite a random bear collection now.
