Yesterday I was reading a BoLS article that came across Facebook about how we might be playing DtW wrong. I can't seem to find the thread about this. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction for it. Or, is there a thread discussing it? I have gone over it with my local game store, and there seems to be some disagreement as to whether it's a RaW or RaI.

Could you present how you perceive it and where you think you are wrong? You're giving very little information to go on.

His arguement was basically that the deny step was like this:
1) Choose unit [targt of spell]
to deny with
2) Apply modifiers
3) Roll
If none of your units were the target you repeat the same process, but you omit step 2.
Some people have argued that since it says 'you' in the 2nd part of deny that it's YOU who are making the deny roll, not a unit since there was no target.
A person I know has talked with a friend of his that lives in England and they said that the articles arguement is how it is supposed to be played. I've played it a few times this way, and it makes the farseer very good. Also, Khârn would be BROKEN being able to deny on a 2+.

That is correct. If the target of a Witchfire or Malediction, one can modify one's DtW depending on who the target is, whether it's Karn, a Farseer, or a Crusader Squad.
However, if it is a Blessing or a Conjuration, than the target is a friendly unit, which means no bonuses.
This of course assumes that any DtW bonuses you have apply to the unit or model. There may be some which will always have an affect. GW is strange like that.

Right, the question that came up is let's say you Prescience your unit. Can I use my farseer to DtW and use his Runes of the Farseer to reroll it if I fail? Some say yes, some say no. Seems like an arguement can be made for both I think.

Another issue that came up is with Khârn. Does he DtW every attempt or just ones that target him and his unit? It's tough to call since it's still a 6th ed book.
