i everyone :D
I have a question, can the biovoros shoot at anything? I mean choosing a desert point on the board and shoot?

for example, I choose a piece of terrain where no miniatures neither armies, and shoot. after I make the rolling the Scatter dice, I measure from the center of the area of effect there is no enemies within 6 ", then I put mine spore there.

is this possible? I mean "shoot to nothing"

No, all templates must have a target which is a enemy model.

As gcsmith mentions, the biovore still fires blast templates, and only after it misses a target (due to scatter) does it's amunition turn in to a model (spore mine). The biovore doesn't have any special rules that allows it to miss on purpose or not to select a valid target.

Yep, step 1 in the shooting phase. Check LOS and pick a target. (page 15)

You can't get around that.
