Ever look back on your life and wish you could send a memo back to yourself to not do something?

Over 2 codexes ago, I could not win with Eldar. If I rolled like a king then maybe I could scrape a win. So I decided to trade armies with some one. So I traded all my eldar for some sisters of battle, some greyknights in power armour (as I already had grey knights), and a baneblade.

Flipping through the new book, I really wish I hadn't made that trade.

Anyone have a time machine?

I feel like if you had a time machine, you could do a lot better than "eventually, eldar will be good". Like "Ask X out on a date", or "invest in Y company"...

Years ago I swapped all my RT era Orks for some 2nd Ed Guard.

I would have loved to get them back, but all gone now.

Darklink, why spoil it with 'chase the super hot gurl(/boy)' or 'invest in something sensible' - we're talking about plastic crack man!

Yes, I have a time machine. No, you may not use it. In any case, I'm not sure you'd want to. I haven't gotten all the flaws out of the system yet...

I'd send a memo to 1988 and tell myself not to bother.

I'm just sayin, if you really want a different 40k army, use the time machine to get rich and you'll have all the 40k you'll ever want.

I feel you on the trade. though you could look at it that you saved yourself a lot of grief from people telling you that you are a power gamer in 6th and 7th edition.

I always thought I would use a time machine to go back with my 30k World Eaters to a GT in the mid to late 90's and just blow everyone's mind. tell them I sculpted all the bitz, win best army and disappear. people would be talking about it for years.

I used to, but I sold it back in 2023.

I had a TARDIS but I mistakenly disguised it in the shape of a Portaloo and sadly some b4stard took a dump in it, messing up the machinery.

Sometimes I wish I hadn't bothered with modifying my Broodlord to have that instant kill biomorph from last editions codex. Now he looks like he has a tail biomorph that he isn't allowed to have.

While I'm still not unsatisfied with the model, especially considering my lack of skill, part of my brain always winces when looking at it and screams 'Illegal equipment'

A time machine would sure spare me from that and save me some work.

When I was in a bit of financial distress a number of years ago I sold off a heavily converted Word Bearer army that I had sunk a LOT of time in to for far less than they were worth to me because someone had cash in hand and I had bills in hand.

Anyway, this story DOES have a happy ending because 5 years later I found the army randomly for sale online and managed to get my hands back on them. There was a bit of damage to repair, but still - feels good to resolve that mistake.
