Not Maybe

Deathwatch
Genestealer Cult

via 75hastings69 5-1-2015

Anyone here remember the little guessing game we had about releases?

Most of it can be found here....... (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?405659-Plastic-(GW-produced)-Warhammer-30K&p=7385826&viewfull=1#post7385826)

So you'll see in there the assassins game (correct)
HH Game (I guess time will tell )

... and amongst the other stuff....

G/S Cult Codex & Models (Harlequin sized release)
Deathwatch Codex & Models (Harlequin sized release)

..... well, I may have gotten myself a bit confused about what these actually were, it seems we "may" be seeing these two as a combined set in some fashion, whether that's as another standalone game or as a "starter/campaign" set is yet unclear, although I'm going to assume that these would be unusual choices for a starter box.

Unrelated. But there's a nice Hybrid Conversion in this months Warhammer Visions.

A Cult army would be a lovely addition to things.

If a "starter/campaign," which leads into a bigger release for the two armies, cool. If it's just a single combined box of some set with nothing else, meh. And please don't let it be a board game, because then they'll have small forces, throw some rules in WD, and say that because you can use the models in 40K they have to price the game as a 40K products bundle rather than how a board game of its type should be priced. (I'd love to be optimistic and believe it'd be a situation like Space Hulk, but Execution Force dampened those dreams.)

Have them have there own sub-faction codex to nids that allows them to take there own stuff and stuff from astra militarum giving them the ability to somewhat ally with astra militarum force's (tricking them).

Both Deathwatch and Genestealer Cults would be perfect for Khorne Daemonkin style codexes - a remix of existing kits and rules (albeit with some new models thrown in, in their case).

Don't forget, when the Nids arrive, the Cult are the first into the digestion pools.

Don't forget, when the Nids arrive, the Cult are the first into the digestion pools.Eh, that part of the fluff's begging for some progression (since Tyranids and Tau seem to be the two factions allowed tech and tactical development). Just throw in a line about Hivefleets finding they have greater invasion success if they eat the Cult after eating everyone else.

Nah. Quickest way to get a bit of fast adaptation in - scoff some willing locals, especially as there may be some element of genetic memory from the Genestealer DNA.

By the time 'nids start eating anything, they've already infested much of the local plant/animal life - any need for local adaptation can be satisfied there.

From a gaming perspective, having them be allies seems like more fun than disallowing it. Probably not Battle Brothers; don't want Tyranids carting around in tanks, but I'd love to see giddy cultists fighting alongside their six-limbed angels.

Hate to say it, but that seems a little like 'stating the bleeding obvious'

But as ever happy to be proved wrong.

Given "Birds in the Trees"'s batting average on the Knights, I'm just going to completely fail to get excited about anything in that quote box.

I like both Deathwatch (http://www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/showthread.php?49607-Deathwatch-Army), and Genestealer Cults (http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2014/05/40k-lore-genestealer-cults.html). A lot. So I hope this is true.

Oh how I hope this is all true.
