Pre-order Shift - now Saturday's, 10 am.

Just had this on my Facebook feed.

GW pre-orders are moving from Friday evenings to Saturday mornings.

Well, moving back is probably more accurate, as it used to be that way for yonks.

Certainly helps out the individual stores, as it means I can waltz on up to place my order, sending me munneh through my main gaming location's till.

10am which timezone? 10am EST would still mean you'd want web orders for limited items so they don't sell out if you live PST.

Not to mention other countries.

The joys of getting older. I still want to stay up for 2 days straight and sleep for 24 hours with nary a care in the world. Ah college was fun... probably should have found some time for classes though.

no, because there are separate allocations of limited edition stuff per region, so you aren't competing with people in other timezones, only with other people in yours, who will similarly be in bed in most instances.

Per region, or per country? Because the east coast wakes up three hours earlier than the west coast. If I get up 8am Saturday pacific time, I expect limited edition codexes will already be sold out.

I'm fairly certain it has to be, based on the region selection on the website.

Good news is 3am might make high demand limited items last more than five minutes when they go live. Void Generators and Plasma Tower and the like.

This is horribly inconvenient for me. I do all my store's ordering and I do not work Sat & Sun. So basically if I have players wanting to special order web exclusives I have to get my arse out of bed early on Saturdays to log in and place orders for them. This seriously sucks.

The crappy thing is my Saturday guy knows nothing about the stuff, and he's not going to be on the website placing orders for our customers. I mean, I don't want him to be placing orders...

From past experience I have little faith that they allocate per time zone. If US orders begin 10am EST, I expect limited runs to sell out via web long before 10am PST.

It's 10 AM Pacific for the entire US. I'm in Central, so my time is noon.

This is why I wish GW would be more transparent about these things, as there is conflicting info in this thread.

Certainly "10am wherever you are" sounded near impossible for a global release.

I'm not rushing to order anything this week, but I'll be watching to see how things roll out.

Everything I've seen from them has said Pre-Orders 10 AM Pacific time on Saturdays. However, new releases are able to be sold at 12:01 AM Saturday, local time.
