Hey there everyone,
This is my first post on BOLS. I recently went a bit crazy and locked myself away for days tinkering with my new Space Wolves - by the end of it I had even attempted some pretty heavy (for me) conversion work. Here's some close ups of where I am at the moment:

My personal favourite - my completely dismembered wolf scout leader. I want to convert all of these guys, they're my favourite unit in the game along with eldar striking scorpions

So there you have it so far, I should really have included a photo of my desk after it was all done - it was the work of pure madness!

More soon.

Looking good, what grey are you going to use as a base?

Hi and thanks for the comment - I was thinking of using just adeptus battle grey for my wolves, and i sprayed it on my whirlwind. But I'm not sure if it's too dark or not - might even do a test model in astronomican grey - which is almost the opposite of adeptus, haven't made my mind up. It's funny this question is the big one for most SW generals - which type of grey to use. I know i'll be happy once I choose, but i'd love to be able to see examples of these colours online before committing myself y'know?

on my partners I used Vallejo's Dark Grey as a base drybrushed over black and a vallejo's light grey as a highlight, I'll try and get some photos up but he'll moane that I have the camera out ......

I'd really love to see even one photo. I just have this feeling that maybe a pale grey would look even better than dark but for now i'm siding with the dark side so to speak :)

Here's how my green stuff work has worked out on my wolf scout leader so far - a bit messy but i'll sort all that out with a file and some paint (I hope, not very experienced with green stuff tbh)

Thanks, the head is from a set of micro art studios barbarian heads and the arms I think are from fantasy orks - had to cut the hands off because they were orky oversized.

Been a a bit slow around here lately, but here's how my wolf scouts are (slowly) coming along.

Some kroot bits and the excellent Chaos Marauder heads have spruced this guy up a bit:

Also experimenting with some more dynamic poses on this guy:

Well! That certainly took me more time than I predicted - real life always intrudes when you've got cool projects on the back burner eh?

Heres my finished scouts...

They look nice! One question though: What is your method for doing the grey stubble on the heads/cheeks? I've tried light grey washes but they tended to run too much and not be very visible. But yours looks great. Any tips would be appreciated!

It's watered down codex grey, really watered down. I wasn't sure what it'd come out like so I took no chances and made it virtually transparent. After a few layers I found areas that'd stand out in real stubble, such as chin, cheekbones etc started to stand out perfectly so i just painted the rest where it'd be darker and voila! I got lucky because it was my first time doing this and the faces were looking really sweet by that stage, if you can call that guy with the melta guns face sweet
