Quick background, my main opponent is my buddy who plays necrons. 9 times out of 10 i end up losing to him, most-likely because I need to get better, but I wanted to enlist the BOLS brain trust to help tweak my list before I get too crazy. I'm sick of losing all the time, and frankly it doesn't make for very fun game nights if I just lose over and over.

Alright that's said, here's my list from my last game:

Nemesis Strike Force

HQ: Librarian, ML 3, Storm Bolter, warding staff, domina liber daemonica

Elite: 5x Paladins: Apothecary with sword, Banner guy with storm bolter, Paladin with daemon hammer, paladin with halberd, and paladin with psycanon and halberd.

Troops: 5x Terminators: Justicar with teleport homer, and halberd, 2 sword guys, a halberd guy, and an incinerator guy with a halberd. Land raider transport

Fast Attack: 5x Interceptors, Incinerator, justicar with hammer, 2 halberds, and a falcions guy
stormraver with TL lascanons, TL Multimeltas

Heavy: 2x Dreadknights with Heavy Incinerator, Heavy Psycanon, great sword, and personal teleporter

Allied Inquisitor: PA, Psyker ML 1, Empyrean brain mines, force sword and a bolt pistol.

I all but got tabled by the 5th round. My plan was to DS the dread knights, and start the game with the paladins, librarian, and inquisitor in the storm raven. Bad Reserves rolls brought them all in turns 2 & 3, all that while I lost my interceptors, and my land raider was able to plink away at the necron armor.

TLDR: Any advice for a novice general with his list and strats?

Well first advice, don't deep strike your dreadknights, just teleport them turn one where you want and nuke it all. Second, I value psilencers but to each to their own on dreadknights.

Drop inquisitors, take an assassin. I personally would say drop paladins and go with reg terminators, toss in kaldor draigo if you have him, and just teleport across the field first turn and let him soak your wounds.

Pick one spot on your enemies army to hammer with shooting first turn, and keep in mind what you want your dreadknights to assault the next (they will obliterate any vehicle)

Interceptors can teleport, so don't put them in a storm raven, just deploy them with the rest of your teleporting/gate of infinity army and let the stormraven just be cool anti-air or awesome damage against ground units without worrying about it getting shot out, arriving in time etc.
