Now, this is NOT my conversion - I saw this on the Statuesque Models Facebook page. As you may know, I am a big fan of their Heroic Scale Heads (http://statuesqueminiatures.shop033.com/p/8774376/sma012-heroic-scale-female-heads.html) and have used them for my Imperial Guard, Marines, and Inquisition quite extensively:

However, Dreamforge Games have just released the Valkir, which (as the picture above shows) combines very nicely with the Statuesque heads to give us finally, a credible plastic Sisters of Battle alternative.

http://dreamforge-games.com/collections/infantry/products/eisenkern-valkir-heavy-trooper
http://dreamforge-games.com/collections/infantry/products/eisenkern-valkir-assault-trooper

So anyway, I'm totally sold on this conversion. I know there's been a lot of talk of new SoB here, and that many of us are desperate for GW to show the Sororitas some love. This struck me as something the community might want to know about. :)

Dreamforge are actually close to production (I think) on female versions of their lesser-armored troops. At least I remember seeing renders several months ago. I remember being slightly disappointed that they didn't look "sistery" enough. Interesting that the heavier-armored male figures seem just right for the job!

Yeah, I may have bought some in the week. DEAR SWEET MERCIFUL ZEUS THE SCULPTING IS LOVELY.

Not to mention, some excellent gasmask heads which I'll be using for some Inquisitor Acolyte conversions, and some very nice 'knightly' helms, which are being used on...

Well.

A project.

wow some nice conversions there, those figures will suit as Adaptas Sortias very will, I'd happly play against a well painted army of those ladies.

are those chunky backpacks separate?

YorkNecromancer
02-08-2015, 06:15 PM
Yup. You could put regular marine packs on if you want; I'm planning some multi-melta ladies myself.

FYI: If you are looking to do this conversion, those are from the 20 man Valkir set. The shoulders are slightly less bulky and they are all carrying rifles, so the arms on that kit may work best if you are going 'shooty'.

Very nice. A couple round headed push pins in the backpack, to give them a more 'Sisterly' look perhaps?

Painted to basic tabletop standard; I've got some Sororitas transfer somewhere very safe.

Which of course means I can't remember where that is. But when I do, oh the lovely logos the ladies will have.

Very nice. A couple round headed push pins in the backpack, to give them a more 'Sisterly' look perhaps?

Considered that, but I really like the clean lines of the backpacks as they are. It'd be a very simple conversion, though.

Indeed. The arms on that kit are almost perfect for bolters. Well, as you can see.

Those are awesome! Personally, I'd use the GW backpacks but I still enjoy what you've done. Have you fitted one with a jump pack yet?

YorkNecromancer
02-11-2015, 03:02 PM
Not yet; the Valkir arms are only really good for rapid fire-style weapons; I'd have to do some serious re-posing to make some Seraphim, and I'm not a huge fan of assault. I much prefer shooty armies.

Chaos black highlighted with boltgun metal?

YorkNecromancer
02-12-2015, 01:02 PM
Colours are:
Armour: Vallejo Black (Chaos Black equivelant) highlighted with what is now called Gorthor Brown.
Loincloth: Mephiston Red washed with Carroberg Crimson (I'm planning on additional shading of Agrax Earthshade/Nuln Oil in the creases of the cloth later on)
Weapons: Hashut Copper (bodies), Runefang Steel (mechanisms/barrels), all washed with Agrax Earthshade.
African skin: Gorthor Brown washed with Agrax Earthshade.
Caucasian skin: Rakarth Flesh washed with Ogryn Flesh
Black hair: Gorthor Brown washed with Nuln Oil
Blonde hair: Rakarth Flesh washed with Seraphim Sepia
Ginger Hair: Skrag Brown washed with Agrax Earthshade.

Bases: Gorthor Brown highlighted with Admnistratum Grey, covered with a layer of MiG Pigment Rubbel Dust.

Maxmini and Secret Weapons have some cool backpacks that could fit with these.
Brother Vinni has some post apoc female heads with respirators.. would be neat for flamers.

Pretty close, though they look a little too clean and modern for 40k. I'd expect more trim around the shoulders, decoration, etc, since that, more than 'armorboob' is what sells it for me.

So everyone wants to know where these models are from:

http://dreamforge-games.com/collections/everything/products/eisenkern-valkir-heavy-trooper
http://statuesqueminiatures.shop033.com/p/8774376/sma012-heroic-scale-female-heads.html

Statuesque are out of heroic scale heads at the moment (apparently they sold the next three months' stock in three weeks), but are getting a resupply in, including new ones with berets (for Militarum Tempestus conversions).

These look really cool! Will matine arms fit on the bodies? Thinking about how I'd fit heavy weapons on them

I think they will, but you shouldn't need to. The arms as they stand will fit any rapid-fire weapon which Marines can carry, so I'd suggest using these:
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/The_Horus_Heresy/Legiones_Astartes/Space_Marine_Legion_Army_List/LEGION_HEAVY_SUPPORT/Legion_Heavy_Support_Squad/LEGION_HEAVY_FLAMER_SET.html
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/The_Horus_Heresy/Legiones_Astartes/Space_Marine_Legion_Army_List/LEGION_HEAVY_SUPPORT/Legion_Heavy_Support_Squad/LEGION_HEAVY_BOLTER_SET.html

Or simply buying the Eisenkern Valkir who come with heavy weapons:
http://dreamforge-games.com/collections/everything/products/eisenkern-valkir-support-trooper

http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0284/7086/products/Valkir_Support_Trooper_Box_Set.jpg?v=1421821778

Because they're pretty awesome...

While not quite the point of the thread, I think I'm going to use these bodies for a Black Templar army. Stick Templar shoulder pads, backpacks, and heads on these guys and they'll look pretty awesome.

Yeah those forge world arms were what I was thinking to go with them although i'm coming unstuck with trying to find a multi melt that would fit with them as I would like to kit them out with GW weapons cos every sister loves to melt heretics! :p

Found this over a Ebay, thought that it may give you some ideas for Seraphim.

TL;DR, Same bodies (i believe) with Blood Angels mono packs w/wings.

Unit? I'm working on an army now! 'Course, I was just getting it started when I saw the original post, but it's been a great source of inspiration for me as well. Just waiting for various bits to come in, then it can join the que of "needs to be painted stuff". Thanks York!

Torsos are Cadian. Male heads are Space Marine Scouts, female heads are Statuesque Miniatures Heroic Scale Heads.

Arms are 'Regiment Bionics' from Anvil Industries. (http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/Torsos-and-Arms/Bionic-Rifle-Arms-Regiments)
Legs are 'AFTERLIFE Republic Grenadier' legs, also from Anvil Industries. (http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/AFTERLIFE/Conversion-Parts/Grenadier-Legs-Advancing)
Guns are Pulse Rifles (obviously!) from Mad Robot Miniatures. (http://madrobotminiatures.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9_12&products_id=27)

First of all i made an acount just to post in response to this. I am converting the assault v alkeria up as assault sisters. Thats what the first picture is. I saw someone ask if you could put marine jump packs on and the short answer is they dont really fit and they kind of look bad. So im just going with the standard backpack from the box for the dakka sisters and marine backpacks for the "jump" look.

Secondly a few people asked about the scale so in the second picture its a space marine, shooty sister, P.P. winter guard, assault sister, and a storm trooper.

I will post pictures soon of my four sisters squads two squads of assault sisters and two squads of heavy suport squads... whenever these heads finally show up lol

Thanks for posting such a great idea for plastic Sisters, YorkNecromancer. Once I'd seen the excellent results you'd achieved I couldn't resist trying my hand in imitation (the Raging Heroes Kickstarter may have helped XD).

Exactly, its a great way to enote a female, but from a combat perspective, it's a horrible idea. Seperate Breast dividers channel blows inwards and typically upwards towards the face and throat.
