Show us your hobby area/man cave/secret gaming dungeon!

Well, it's been a few years in the planning (more like procrastination) but I finally managed to get around to sorting out my man cave to become an official hobby area, rather than a rubble strewn site that looked like a demolisher round hit it!

To give a bit of background to this, I had all my valuable hobby material stored at my parent's place. I finally got around to getting married, buy and renovate a house and on top of this - install a large 10' x 10' shed for the dream hobby space we gamers all wish for!

Cue proverbial grot-spanner in the mechanicus works. Life and it's vague turns like a rift in a warp meant my dream space turned into the ubiquitous dumping ground for all sorts of flotsam and jetsam. I finally managed to get a few free days to install a wall tool cabinet (in go-fasta red of course!) and start sorting through the boxes of dreams (read : unopened purchases that were squirreled away for the epic days of gaming nirvana!)

It's unbelievable what you can unearth when you actually start organising years of abused boxes and "storage" systems for all the gubbins and bits you kept "just in case" for kitbashing purposes!

So my fellow gamers who have managed to wade through my essay ... I give you my Adeptus Mechanicum Hobby space! I'm hoping this will get some of you to share your dungeon of design, your harem of hobbying, your room of recreation or whatever passes for your "hobby" area!

Wow that's quite the novel use for an old Electric Organ....

[Battle 1-2]

I built a new table for my dining area. I have a wife and six kids, and wanted something we could sit at for Christmas dinner with the in-laws. I also wanted a 6x4 playing surface (but didn't mention that to my wife).

And I'm rather patriotic. So I built this:

It has 2x6's for the edges, which are just wide enough to hold our 6-inch rulers and yardsticks, and the tile makes it really easy to estimate distances. 1 red/white tile long=about 12 inches. 3 red/white tiles short way = about 12 inches. So far, playing on it has been a blast.

I basically wanted a small work bench for my painting desk, I built it out of 2x4s, 2x3s and three 1x12s as the tops. It fits everything nicely; space underneath for army cases and my 100 Watt guitar Amp, main bench has PC and ample painting space (currently occupied by 8 Drop Pods), and a top shelf for books, small bits bins etc. Next to the bench is a cabinet full of plastic boxes and still shrink wrapped boxes of various hobby related items and bits.

Heres my nerd cave. Its a 16x20ft room seperate from my house so it can be locked to keep the wife/kids out. Lets us start games and just leave them overnight (or for a month if we like). We got a fridge microwave and 32"tv. Here´s our old and new gaming room. The videos don´t work anymore, but there´s photos still. This has been a great gaming room, i´ll hope we can keep playing more years to come in there. We have two active speakers hooked to a cd-player (yep, old school :) ) for some good hiphop/drum n bass -tunes there too...

I would honestly, but I just moved into temporary residence while my wife completes her fellowship... then we move back into property that I own and can bolt sh*t to the walls properly. My ideal workspace for my computers is separate from my hobby area but needs dictate that I share the space (thus the mess).
