Actually only £57 but whatever

Attacking from darkness with inhuman ferocity, Konrad Curze, the Night Haunter, inspires terror in the hearts of his prey and subjects alike. A vicious combatant, Konrad wrested control of his world, Nostramo, from criminals and corrupt overlords, and began a reign of terror that ensured order through fear. After taking command as their Primarch, his Legion, the Night Lords, gained a reputation for brutality and looked to bring judgment rather than deliverance to worlds reclaimed for the Emperor during the Great Crusade.

Armed with murderous, artificer-lightning claws and micro-serrated throwing blades, Konrad Curze tears through his enemies, making short work of whole units. Despite his great size he is a master of stealth and concealment, moving in darkness and stalking his target. Few men can stand to face him, and none can look on the Night Haunter and not feel the ice of fear in their hearts.

This imposing, highly detailed model depicts Konrad Curze mid-battle. His armour is decorated with trophies of an impressive number of kills, including skulls and flayed skin. His scenic display base includes the corpses of Konrad’s latest victims, a pair of Solar Auxilia warriors, one of them literally torn limb from limb.

Konrad Curze, Primarch of the Night Lords can be fielded in Night Lords Legion armies in Horus Heresy games. His rules can be found in The Horus Heresy Book Two – Massacre and The Horus Heresy – Isstvan Campaign Legions.

All of them are timestamped at 09:00, looks like EG won though.

It has just struck me that Konrad is like the evil Sanguinius.

Yay! I think.

Dunno. Still in a sulk with you.

Also, that's us very nearly at the Primarch half-way point, with 8 of 18 now out and about.

I for one can't wait to see Leman Russ.

Indeed. That's what I was told at the first HH Weekender (great event if you can get to one!).

Though, if that End Times 40k rumour bears out, I reckon we might see the Design Studio take over that.

I really like this model, but......

He is a jump pack fella. That doesn't really look like a jump pack so i guess he moves real quick.

the fact he can't be put on a regular base concerns me regarding LOS in a game. He's meant to be super stealthly and will never get cover from anything other than a 3 floor building?

He has two bases like most (all?) primarchs.

His standard base is only the just bigger than a marine in height

Primarchs just keep getting better and better in terms of, well, everything.

And yes, I include to sometimes maligned Lorgar in that. Sculpt captures the feel of a reluctant warrior really well I feel.

except for one thing: the "Genesis of a Primarch" video wasn't one this time - I loved the sculptors talking about their masterpieces, no such luck this time *hrmph*

Another awesome primarch(even if it is the flawed and demented night haunter :P)! Loving it, especially as I just finished reading prince of crows, loved that book! :D

It has just struck me that Konrad is like the evil Sanguinius.

Curze and Corax are supposed to be two sides of the same coin. There's a scene when the two are fighting at the isstvan massacre(right after Lorgar got wooped) where Corax has to decide between fighting and trying to kill his brother or retreating with his legion, and he realises that he is looking at a dark mirror of himself and that to stay and fight would be to become like Curze.

daboarder
12-05-2014, 05:17 AM
I think its better to say that curze is EVERYONES mirror/evil twin, thats his thing, the entire point of his existence was that he was the dark reflection of just what a primarch could end up as (and half of them did, in the end proving his point) he fits as the warped distortion of the imperium as a whole he is the comedian of 40k, the devils advocate and the parody that mocks all (itself included)

Might need to start a Night Lords HH army now :(

was that too much awesome for you mate?

actually it needs a little refinement, I'd argue that ALL of the Primarchs eventually became what Curze was (baring the angel who died and left that curse to his sons)

AirHorse
12-05-2014, 05:45 AM
Tangent alert :D

While its certainly debatable that curze was supposed to be a reflection of how the primarchs could turn out(although having read prince of crows now imo Curze wasn't proving any points, he was fulfilling his own prophecy, not proving the flaws of others but simply his own in an entirely different way, but different conversation :D), I also think Curze and Corax are supposed to be direct mirrors of each other.

They are both creatures of shadow, have pale skin, dark eyes, fight up close and personal with claws, and they both fight for the Imperium in opposite ways, Corax was a liberator who hated tyranny and oppression(ironic in the imperium I know!), while Curze was a Tyrant who enforced compliance through oppression and fear.

Back on topic...the more I look at the model the more I like it! I really like the design of his armour!

See when all the Primarchs are available, and I've bought one of each?

I'm gonna see if there's someone willing to take me in a completely insane Seven (ok, 18, 19 if you count Omegon) Samurai type game.

Hmmm... although he does bare a bunch of similarities to Corax, is he ever depicted as having a jump-pack? I don't remember any of the novels specifically describing that; he mostly just batman-ed from rafter to rafter. His rules in HH do not seem to show any jump rules, just hit and run.

I know it's been said that the Chaos primachs will get two models, but I don't think it'll be needed with Curze. He's already perfectly straddling the line with this model. Bloody body parts as trophies on his armour? How many others could get away with that? Yet the twisted conflict and psychological reaction manages to suit him perfectly even BEFORE everything happened.

It is an incredible model. Only one real complaint... It would be nice for FW to have issued another loyalist Primarch. As a Raven Guard player I'm beginning to get the impression my primarch will be one of the last to be issued if at all. The rumour is that the next primarch will be Perturabo. Sadly there's not really a lot to look forward for the loyalist players this year.
