What am I looking for a in a basic cheap camera for taking phots of my minatures

You don't need much, actually- it's more about the lighting than anything else, in my opinion. I recommend using 2/3 light sources (ideally one above, one in front, and one behind and to the side) all covered with white cloth/paper to mute the light, and use a camera stand to steady your shot.
