So, I was reading up on some Necron fluff, and I realized something - the origin of the Enslavers and what they do - possess and corrupt, use psykers to gain access to the Materium - sound an awful lot like Daemons. Are we entirely certain that the Enslavers and the Daemons aren't actually the same things?

Enslavers do live in the warp, but I don't know if they're Daemons. I don't know what the technical difference between a Daemon and a "thing that lives in the warp" is.
Maybe Enslavers are just Xenos that live there, and are in no way connected to the powers/energies/emotions of the Materium, but, living in the Warp, they still need Psykers/portals to enter the Materium.

Yeah there are non-Daemon things in there after all. And if they were Daemons I think he Inquisition and the Grey Knights not to mention the Eldar would have figured that out by now.
