This thread goes out to all our brothers and sisters trying to survive the weekend of biblical snow in the Eastern US.

What are you guys doing to pass the time, because you certainly aren't going outside for a while...

Painting up some Horgenhold Forge Guard I've been putting off for far too long.

Then, time to dig out again.

Well, I need to finish painting some fantasy models, but my wife won't let me prime the models in the basement until we turn the heater off for the night so it doesn't stink up the house. So tonight we are watching movies and hoping the power stays on. Lets see if I can paint four units of marauder horsemen and three units of knights in one weekend. My wife is going to help, so it might be possible.

Honestly the snow hasn't been too bad, but the worst stuff is supposed to hit in a few hours, so I am not getting my hopes up. I feel for the people down south. I also feel for the black-shirt who sold me the primer at 4:45 who was about to drive home. I'm 3 minutes from the store, he is much further away.

Oddly enough, up here in Michigan we haven't had a great deal of snow. At least not where I live.

But, by the by, I'm trying to finish up my IG army and been playing Mass Effect 2. I so want to make some Krogan models to use as Ogryn, or maybe Salarians as ratlings.

I am right in the heart of it in the Shendandoah Valley in Virginia. I would love to be painting, but I am having to go out into the snow to keep my truck uncovered so I can go to work in the morning. Then tomorrow night, I might get some time to work on my IG.

Sunday is the evening we were planning to go out for our anniversary, but that might end up being a night to paint as well, if we can't get out.

South Jersey isn't really buried yet, maybe about 3-4" on the ground.

What I'd like to do:
Paint some more Boyz, maybe start building some Stormboyz or another Nob Biker or two, watch movies, sleep in.

What I'm probably doing:
Calling up my coworker and working on a mega-ridiculous SQL database report for our client. Analyzing something like 150 Excel columns (and Gork only knows how many rows!) trying to make sure the data is correct, and where the hell we're supposed to be getting it from. I'll probably still sleep in, though.

We're getting hit hard by the snow here near Annapolis, Md. I watched some Rifftrax today for some laughs and we've already been outside shoveling snow at least three times today to try and keep from having to clear a foot or two all at once tomorrow. Some good news, the Brass Scorpion I was selling on eBay sold today, helping to pay for some of my new models this year. I also had to phone the police for a disturbing the peace violation near midnight, so it's a typical day so far this winter.

Noise violations I could deal with, but our neighbor hired some yahoo to plow their driveway /easment, and his last trip through he covered over my cleared spaces for my cars with snow while he was pushing thiers out of the way. Pissed me off the point where I called them to ask them to get him to come back and clear it.

Then, once my wife brought back the truck from work, the city truck came by and pushed up two feet against the side of the truck and covered over what I'd cleared from the other guy to get my cars in to place.

Gonna suck to have to clear out in the morning. I've already uncovered the truck again, but i expect the city to come through again sometime in the night, so I'll be digging another two feet from the side of the truck.

Fuggin' about and paintin' some nids. Ready for no more snow, we're still due 6-10 more inches *or more* before day's end.

I just got home from work, and I have my truck parked for the rest of the weekend. I'm hoping to be able to get into the basement some once the wife stops wigging out over the kids being kids (she's got issues with being stuck inside for too long).

i'm working....like every Saturday. not too busy though. i usually bring my paints/models and work on the project of the week. the last few weeks have been Black Templars. time before that, Lizardmen. i read a little bit of the 3rd Darth Bane book. it's great when i can work, wait for someone to have an unfortunate moment and until that dreadful moment endulge in my geekiness.
of course, when you don't bring your paints because you're afraid they'll freeze on the ride to work you end up watching bad movies and posting here!! enjoy the snow, or laughing at all of us that are snowed in and be safe!

Too tired for pictures at the moment. We just created a foot path up our 270 foot driveway to my car which I wisely left up at the top of the driveway. That way, when they clear the road we can go somewhere without having to clear our whole driveway, which is going to take a while for sure. We got about 2 feet here near Annapolis, MD. Richmond area got 2 - 3 feet depending on your location around the city, one place in Maryland got more than 30 inches. It's a white wasteland out there.

Here is my driveway.

Yesterday was very productive! I'm gonna see about maybe heading down to GW in a little bit. Maybe I'll see some people there.

In any case, get ready people. I'm hearing 8-12" Tuesday night.

Right before Christmas we had a big snow out in the Baltimore region, so I spent a day converting Guardsmen to be Vets. This weekend I'll be finally painting them!

Faultie, awesome pics of downtown D.C.

Well, I used a snow thrower to clear off my driveway today and we got my car clear of the snow, but our road has only been cleared to one lane wide and there's really nowhere to go since most of the area is paralyzed still. I'm hoping for a better, more mobile day tomorrow.

In the meantime, I'll watch some more DVDs and continue prepping an army transport for my now growing again Tyranid army.

Man, I wish FFXIII had been released, like, a week ago.

I'm not one to complain about Snow Days, but I am supposed to be giving a test today.

I've been working and being a little envious of my wife. Hospitals don't close, but her school did. Then again the daycare has been closed as well, so she didn't get off that easy.

Please, no. We didn't schedule any snow days, and I can not teach all the material with 4 days of lecture missing.

Luckily Monday is a holiday anyways.
