I've nearly finished my Trygon

Cheers to all those who commented on my Hormagaunts (http://www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/showthread.php?t=4727) a while back, I ended up going for the bone coloured scythes (slightly lighter than the skin colour)

Like I said in your previous thread, I like the colours you've used here, they're simple enough to make the model not too much of a chore to paint (important when you've got 100's of gaunts to do!) but complex enough to give depth and feeling to the model. I'm glad you didn't go for the red claws, they just didn't look organic enough and what you've got is looking really nice.

That looks really cool. By the way I also think the subtle claws are much better than the red on these models.

They're looking great- It's a nice strong scheme. Great color on the mouths too. Keep it up.

Overall they look good, the bones stand out a lil bit more, you may want to skip the washes on the larger pads (the ones on the shoulder) as the ink tends to blot and be less effective if it has no cracks to run into.

Speaking on washes, I wonder how would the bones turn out with a colored wash layer.

What green colors did you use? Really likes the green shade.

Yeah i could have gone into more detail couldn't I lol.

Colours used:

Undercoat: Black spray

Base coat (all over): Khemri Brown Foundation

Skin: Bleached bone, washed with Devlan Mud

Carapace (armour): Camo Green, washed with Thraka Green (the larger areas i had to wash once, then drybrush camo green lightly, then wash again - to reduce the blotches, but this could probably be avoided by not chucking on so much wash :D

Scythes and claws: Bleached bone, then skull white, then washed with Gryphonne Sepia

Mouth and tongue: Elf Flesh, then washed with Baal Red

Coloured piping in legs and arms: as the skin, then wash with Baal Red

Thumbs up. Like that subtle difference between the flesh and bone
