Okay folks. My specific query is in regards to the Firestorm Redoubt and Vengeance Weapon Batteries (only two buildings I own).
Gun Emplacements are in the rule book on p109. They have a stat line with a Toughness, Wounds, and armor save. It also says that a gun emplacement can be shot at and attacked in CC.
Emplaced Weapons are on p112 and are defined as built in weapons (no stat line listed). It also specifies that if a Gun Emplacement is taken as a building upgrade, it counts as an emplaced weapon instead of a gun emplacement.
The Firestorm Redoubt and Vengeance Weapons Battery specifically list their weapons and Emplaced (they also cannot be manually fired and always use Automated fire).
So....can an Emplaced Weapon be targeted seperately than the building?
On p113 the picture example has the Imperial Bastion and both the Icarus Lascannon on top and the 4 mounted Heavy Bolters are labeled as Emplaced Weapons. If the Icarus could be shot at, then so could the Heavy Bolters, right?
The Aegis Defense line's weapon options are listed as Gun Emplacements and this is why the can be targeted separately.
I think the last paragraph under 'Emplaced Weapons' on p112 'Gun Emplacement Upgrades' that specifies the Gun Emplacements count as Emplaced Weapons means they are different things.
What is your take on this?
