Im not sure if this has been covered before, but here it goes. Would a CSM spell familiar only allow you to reroll while trying to harness charge dice if you didnt roll enough successes? And if you got a perils would you be able to roll one of those dice to try to stop it?

You can only reroll failed tests. If you fail, you reroll the whole test which means rerolling all the dice. If you pass, but perils, you're stuck with it.

To put my question in context, I was playing CSM with a summoning sorcerer last night. He rolled four dice and got two 6s, a four and a 3. The power was successful, but if the spell familiar could have allowed me a reroll that would have been nice.As it was he only last two turns before he perils-ed himself out.

A model with a spell familiar may re-roll failed psychic tests.

Emphasis mine.

Yep, the Perils would stick but the power would succeed. So unless the CSM sorcerer has that Prophet of the Voices rule, leave the Daemon summoning to the Daemons (unless you get Cursed Earth or Possession that is....)
