Hey all,

Normally i'm posting up clients commission threads but this time its for my own army - an Ultramarine army. Some of the key things I want to do with this army is to paint it darker (not in blue surf colours) and to paint it fast as this army is bing painted between commissions.

So with the above in mind, the blues of the Ultramarines are airbrushed with everything else brush painted. Normally I do NMM techniques for my clients, but I have a serious lack of time here for my own stuff so I'll stick with doing real metals instead.

Below are some Terminators which I painted over a few nights and some other WIP shots of some of the others units that I've started on.

I'll keep posting back here with images of the army as it comes along.

Enjoy and let me know if you have questions or have any feedback.

That is some fantastic OSL on the terminator sarge's face.

Love the OSL effects. Are you airbrushing the base color and then hand blending the blues?

The blue blending is all airbrushed. Everything else though is hand brushed. I'm just putting together a how to guide with the colours used for this project and hopefully have it posted soon.

I really need to invest the time in learning to use an airbrush. I'm just so old fashioned! :o

Everything is looking great! It's a real chore to work your own stuff in around commissions... that's why I would never make it as a professional! :p

I've put up an article on my blog site which goes into some more details as to what I'm doing and how i'm doing it for those interested with the journey of getting my Ultramarine Army painted :)

for a quickly painted squad, they sure do look amazing.

I like them, but overall, I think the white highlight is too heavy and harsh... personal choice though at the end of the day :)
