She just posted this on FB.

Love is "reading" war hammer visions for 20 minutes so your son could look at the "cool robots" and the "oh amazing" pictures without hurting daddy's book.

BTW, my son is rather rad too. ;)

When she puts up with your use of 'Kewl' as a sincere complement and not a sarcastic 4chan post from 2008?

:D

Even with airquotes I wouldn't classify the visions as reading, much less "a book".

GW made Toilet paper; and typically GW it's bloody expensive. :)

Swing.... and a miss.

You guys are missing the point completely.

Jgolden... you do indeed have an awesome wife.
Mine actively encouraged me to get into the hobby, and now puts up with the hobby creep that is taking over our work room ('creep' being the expansion of the hobby supplies, miniatures, and books... not the lucky slob bringing those things into the house... me).

It is a great story. That's not just a "kewl" wife. She loves you just the way you are and that's a beautiful thing.

A cool wife also braves the overly enthusastic male staff to buy you a couple of stormravens because "it's a tuesday".

That is adorable. It's important that a wife/girlfriend be supportive of the hobby. If it is important to him, she shouldn't let it drive a wedge between them.
I myself play warhammer 40k with my husband. I play Dark Eldar/Eldar and we have placed in several of the local tournaments and play apocalypse games on a regular basis. I started playing because it was obvious that the hobby was important to him, and he was going to play with or without me. I wanted to be included and now it is the main thing we do together, and I love it.

You know you have a kewl wife when she comes down to the LGS where you are playing in a tournament and brings a large birthday sheet cake for about 50+ people to share.

How you know you have a kewl wife...

When says she'll be fine taking the kids camping (to a big group, multi-family, camping gig), while you go to a GT.

My Kewl wife put up with a decade of weekly games of 40K at the FLGS along with weekend long Tournies and other events. Then, noticing my terminal burnout from 40K, we were wandering the FLGS when she saw me watching a game of Star Wars Miniatures. Her first remark was that I should get that game and play it for awhile.
Then she bought me a Tantive IV!!!!!!

Well the unlikelihood of your clairvoyance aside, if its just your future girlfriend then that day is everyday.

Had to throw this in here. last year my gf painted this picture of me, don't know how much it says about her though as much as me.

yes... I own four cats, and yes my hair does kind of look like that

My wife is certainly not cool with my hobby. She tolerates it as something to keep me occupied while she's been through med school, residency, and now a fellowship where she leaves at 7am and doesn't get home until 9pm.

She doesn't always understand why I have to keep buying minis even though I have tons of stuff sitting on shelves... although she kind of understands....

Recently I picked up another revenant (to add to the 1 I have assembled- that recently self-imploded , and 1 unassembled in a box) and she looked at me with my head in the box, making sure all the parts were there, and she walks into the doorway of my man cave/office (that she's not allowed into) and says while rolling her eyes, "You better have ordered that sh*t off ebay...."

If it helps, that's a pretty adorable picture. :P

I hope you utilise the cats in a Santa's Elves sort of way to manufacture minis. Maybe graft opposable thumbs onto them or something.

I'm just happy they haven't interfered with the operations too much. Especially cause of my prediliction towards metal minis and adding lead to my paints : 0
