Hey there!
I really REALLY like cool looking conversions (like most people) my favourite type of models would be forgeworlds Death Korps an Elysians, I favour things like longcoats and facemasks that cover up as much skin as possible because i am useless at painting skin (i usually just coat with dwarf flesh and lightly wash with badab black) and as such i wanto find a way to easily convert models to have facemasks and/or longcoats and, if possible, unique weapons..
The conversions would have to be very simple though, i have Dyspraxia and am none too good with holding models steady and sculpting green stuff.. so is there any way you can make a cool looking model with limited green stuff?
Thanks in advance

yeah but it takes practice. thats the key, the more practice the better. tho check out Pig Iron Productions for cool looking gas
masks

I agree. I have only been using green stuff for a little while, but you get used to it and you do get better with practice.(and the right tools!) Try making the masks seperate from the modell at first until you find a easy technique.
As an aside - I hate painting flesh too. I use a coat of elf flesh with watered down Red gore washed over it and highlight with elf flesh again to finish. its easy and quick, but looks decent enough.

I can't stress enough the part about having the right tools. They make such a huge difference.

Exactly. I am planning on buying a set or sculpting tools and maybe some tweezers that have a magnifying glass attached for this kind of work.

I have a simple system of painting too (block in colours, then chuck on a wash) and I've had great success with simple head swaps

These are my conscripts, they are made simply shoving a West Wind Productions head onto cadian bodies

(all are painted up now)

I have looked at the Pig Iron heads too and they would also make for cool IG models.

although i don't see any problems with flesh colours coated in badab black - works well for my skin tones...

some of my penal legionaires (made using heads from Hasslefree miniatures) just elf flesh heavily coated in badab black

If you're even going to think about greenstuffing, I can't recommend these enough:

Incredibly useful.
