Magnetizing older version of Wraithlord

Hey guys - does anyone have any tips on how to magnetize the shoulder weapon of the old metal Wraithlord?

I can't necessarily give you tips on magnetization, but I can give you this link to the way we used to do things BEFORE magnets became popular for minis.

When I started working with Tyranids, this brass rod system was what I used and it worked fantastic for arm swaps, just like magnets do in today's world. The only difference is that doing it this way requires a bit more work up front.

In this specific case pinning fits the bill better, as there is very little surface to use for magnets. you might want to magnetize the end of the pin socket, but it's pretty redundant.
